I wish you were around when they were farming on Rienzi that way I could have some videos of my Dad n the rest of those Guys who done passed away!!Thanks for those Broussard Videos👍🏻
Excellent video! I learn a lot with your RUclips channel, thank you very much for showing us your work, I really appreciate your effort. Please, could you tell me what brand and model are the sugar cane cutters?
Aerial Ag I imagine the farmers get less for the whole cane stacks as apposed to the ones that are cut right? The mill would then have to chop it up themselves correct? Trying to not use the world “ah” as much as it kind of gives it away where I am from ah? 😂😂 Oh darn! 😂😂 I try! LOL!!
Brp Fan No I don't think there's any penalty for sending whole stalks. It all get shredded up at the mill anyways whether it's stalks or billets.. you talk like you want to.. ah 😂
@Brp Fan The Sugar Mills in Louisiana That accept Wholestalk Sugarcane Are Cajun Sugar Co Op in New Iberia , St Mary Sugar Co Op in Jeanerette , and Louisiana sugarcane cooperative in St Martinville Louisiana
Sad to see the hurricane damage, although the harvester did a good job picking it up. Suggestion: I would love to see the guys setting the field on fire. Just for the sake of nostalgia.
Good video as usual. Is it my imagination or was the 2 row cutter around the 8.15 mark going down those rows and actually cutting 3 somehow? or had all the rows been flattened and he was actually just cutting 2. Never seen one of those single row types before - odd looking thing isn't it. Had after cutting that field been burnt off as there was plenty of green tops when cut but it didn't look like any on the stalks being loaded.
No, he was cutting two rows, just one was passing over a row of standing cane. The cane was so down and twisted he was having trouble catching the right rows a couple times. At the row ends it looked like a bowl of spaghetti lol.. and yes this cane is burned before it is loaded. And that single row is a 1975 model.. very cool to see one running!
Aerial Ag Yeah I had never seen a single row cutter without a cab before either, pretty cool that it’s still working fine! Wow 1975 model year, very neat to see it! Thanks!
@@AerialAg Thanks for all that. I'm sorry to keep asking all these questions, - it's just as you can tell I've never seen any of this grown before until I "stumbled" on your 'channel'. For years we had what we call a 'mixed farm' so a crop like this always interests me.
Christopher Lovelock Trust me I have asked Arial Ag a tons of questions over the years about sugar cane as we don’t grow it either and he’s taught me all I know about cane! He’s a very helpful wonderful friend!!
Saya berasal dari Indonesia, saya ingin bertanya: bagaimana anda melakukan pemanenan jika kondisi tanah di kebun anda terlalu banyak airnya dikarenakan sering hujan bila melakukan pemanenan dengan alat panen tersebut? Terimakasih
@@BRPFan I'm 4th generation farmer and our family was one of the first to go mechanical harvesting, all chopper harvesting here in Australia no mill excepts whole stick cane.

Thank you! These cutters were made by Broussard Cane Equipment in Parks, Louisiana.
Really enjoyed this one. Are the tractors hauling straight to the mill
Cody Danos Thanks, yes they do
Maybe I’m not remembering correctly, but didn’t they used to burn the cane BEFORE cutting?
Cody Danos Not usually for wholestalk. I have seen that done in pictures but never saw it in Louisiana myself..
Oh ok. I thought somebody told me they used to, but I must’ve misunderstood them
Cody Danos They could have, like I said I have seen it just never in person
Nice fresh paint on that Case Magnum, funny to see a JD combine cab on another machine (yellow picker) looks like a 20 series combine cab
Please l want to ask you for some thing . How much does it cost?
Where was it made?I need one.
Awesome video buddy! You sure did get some awesome videos of whole stack harvesting! Does the mill except whole stack?
Brp Fan Thanks, not the ones near me but they do further West

That’s how I remember harvesting when I was a kid

Definitely would have filmed that, but they lit the field on fire the following day.
Hello. Love the process. Whats the machines name? The claw one and the stalks harvester?please

Whats the name of that haevester machine where can I buy it
Be cheaper harvesting wholestick compared to standard chopper harvester
Chris Blackburn That's true.. more loss, but much cheaper running expense
Chris Blackburn I was thinking the very same! But they have grown and harvested sugar cane for a very long time and I am sure they know best!
