    This is by far the best video I have found on making air horns. Thank you for clearly and directly sharing what you have learned

    Firstly thanks for the videos, they where very informative and very professional looking.
    The reason your experiencing "over-blow" with your horns is a result of too thin of a diaphragm. I used this aluminum siding diaphragms on some of my earlier test horns and they would over-blow at 80+ psi. I later switched to .093" polycarbonate diaphragms which allow me to push excess of 150 psi. With that material you will only need 1 diaphragm.
    And you are on the right track with having a larger footprint push on the diaphragm. Having a larger area contact area allows you to get more sound with less psi of air, plus it will help safe your diaphragm from damaged caused by a smaller contact area.

    Thank you for making the videos to share this wealth of experience, and the hours, and hours of work that went into it. I am really impressed with your resourcefulness and the understanding of how your horns work. You should be very proud of what you have accomplished!
    When you say what kind of horn it is (Leslie, Nathan, etc), is that because of the specific chord that it plays, or something else?

    You should definitely sell this as a kit or easy to follow, detailed instructions. Even an enthusiast has to eat. Good work.

    Why do you reduce the fitting at the horn itself I thought it would be about air flow. I have built some but never have change the fitting size to c what happens. Just wondering if you have experimented with different size holes...thanks

    Thank you for the video. I'm trying to make this work with a "Alps" horn (very low pitch). I followed this video but when I hooked up the horn I was not getting the additional volume I was expecting. Thanks for any advice!

    I want as much info as I can possibly get on this lol. I watched your test video and am very impressed. Do you guys have kits or a list of what all I would need to do this? Also, about how much did it all cost?

    Just wondering if you have ever tried to seal the #1 diaphram in the power chamber with a 3.345 diameter rubber O ring or to use as a spacer between #1 and #2 diaphram? Where can you find the weatherstrip material that you use to seal the diaphrams?

    Have you found anything out about the diaphragm and what happens when you use 2 or 1. I use 1 on mine that's .095 thick. seams that I have to read just them but they are on my truck and get some abuse from the roads I drive on. I wonder if 2 put together is better. I'm putting 180 psi through it.

      Charlie Daniels I got mine from Walmart. They are just $2 transmission funnels. You’ll have to trim them quite a bit to tune them.

    how go you guys cut the Polycarbonate to shape?

    • @jessedielschneider8757
      @jessedielschneider8757 9 лет назад

      thank you for the reply!! after some research and a little testing i found out you can also use a hole saw. i used to two 2x6 boards and cut a hole in one. put the poly on the board with no hole,put the drilled board on top of the poly where you want the hole in the poly.next screw or clamp the two boards together and use the 2x6 with the hole in it as a guide so you don't need the center bit on the hole saw.i actually got the idea from one of jimmy Diresta tip videos.

    You might wanna put a warning for epilepsy induced coma caused by the insane shaky video. My eyes are bouncing around in my head. What did you video this with a handheld hubble space telescope. But very cool video otherwise. I don't even care if you honked the damn horns.
