I didn’t expect to see old mate in a heel hook video. I watched about 10 seconds of it and saw that he was saying the exact opposite of Robert Degle and Lachlan Giles so I stopped. I don’t want to get worse at leg locks 🤣
I believe that this works to an extent but what it doesn't stop is the clover lock basically calf slicing or Achilles lock them with their bottom foot I use it all the time with high efficiency
I know who cyborg is. I won worlds once myself. Also a black belt. You can simply crank the bottom foot. He’s a way better grappler than I am. Still, a mistake is a mistake.
@@michaelstrong4823 if that’s true that’s amazing. But.. I don’t understand how he would not be able to realise something so basic that’s staring us right in the face, eg anyone can see that heel is there, leading me to have thought for whatever reason he thinks it’s not an issue 🤷♂️. I look forward to trying this on Monday
@@michaelstrong4823 please advise then in your opinion, when you’re attempting to attack your opponent’s feet from 50/50, what is the best way of preventing your opponent attacking your feet?
@@JamesBrown- 50/50 is a shootout. You both have equal chances of attack, hence the name. I hate 50/50. I think it’s a great way to get your knee destroyed. Use saddle or ashi instead. Your knees will thank you. I think 50/50 is good for master leglockers against people who know less. It’s a garbage position IMO. You have to transition into it. Just don’t. Also, block and escape when it’s coming. I train with several world champions, I’ve trained with ADCC medalists. I have never been submitted in 50/50.
He is a good teacher

Is this the one where you do the opposite grip for the straight ankle lock? Almost like a guillotine grip?
Why didn’t you defend it against Gordon Ryan
Gordon got Cyborg from saddle not 50/50 at the 2017 ADCC. Gordon was ahead of everybody with his saddle entries at that time.
@@leglocksystems o yeah it was hell hook from a inside sankaku ashi garami
Wow how ignorant and disrespectful

Wow. Horrible defense. Dude would just inside heel hook your bottom foot. 🤦🏻
Hang on a minute, who are you? Do you realise you’re trying to school a world champion black belt?
