This is so cool. How did you get so many amazing old pictures and postcards from the area? It’s funny since you live so far away. Good work. We really enjoyed this video.
google of course, lol been working on this for a while, finally put it together original was way to long, edited the heck out of it, may try another one later down the line
I have been there a few times, '76', '77, '93. Watching the videos from the last 25 years, I really don't know if I want to go back. Dollywood and that whole stretch through the Pigeon Forge area leading to Gatlinburg used to be quaint craft shops, etc. Obviously, Gatlinburg has been a tourist trap for decades, but it looks like it has lost its charm. Even though it has always been a popular destination, it just seems so overrun now. Some of my best memories are from there, to be sure. The view from the top of the chairlift is etched into my brain and the swaying of the Space Needle lol The first time I had a pulled pork sandwich was in 1977 on our way back to Illinois in a little BBQ shack outside of G'burg. I think it was called Pig's BBQ or something.
Always love seeing vintage photo's...especially of Gatlinburg/PF. Thanks for sharing!!!
