my r32 was broken into 4x when it was my daily. Kill switches saved it but yes very annoying that they are targeted mainly by 16 year olds we busted afew and zero issues 4years prior. Makes me worried about putting an s15 back on the road :S
Yeah really doesn't make sense to me why he wouldn't do a leak down test before pulling the engine. If it's just head gasket he could've diagnosed it then and there and only pulled the head off instead of the whole engine and trans.

Knowing rb's it's probs melted ringlands and maybe done the head gasket in the process. Ticking could just be hydraulic lifters. Especially if it wound up boost on stock ecu, they dont have protection features like fuel/boost cut compared to a toyota

@@egorkayjust cause it's making angry noises doesn't always mean it's rod knock. Could be flywheel bolts, horrendous valve clearances, even the fan could be hitting on something to make that noise. A leak down test would have narrowed down at least 1 issue for them and explained a bit about the health of the engine. But no the RUclips mechanic only knows how to throw parts at it instead of actually diagnosing stuff.

I've lifted engines using ratchet straps. Works a treat as well 😂 was it worth it? Yup saved money on buying chains lol
