Yo I DoorDash everyday and go to bass meetups on the weekends, you guys can wrap my entire car with your ads in exchange for a good amp!! Lol for real tho if interested contact me. I'm currently running a XV3 18 saving for a secound but was thinking of selling it and going with 4 of your new 12s
Ive seen jp change throughout the years, from watching as a kid when he had nothing but psi in that blue tahoe, to now me being grown and he has his own sub, glad to see it fr
Would've loved to hear it in a the proper box. D4S has prefab boxes as well for 15s and 12s might wanna try them or get some different sizes ones built. Great video doe
Nice review glad to see D4S on the channel many talk bad on JP but if they ever got to know him he is solid as they come! Not many in Private Jet’s take time out the day to respond to a basic middle class Dad on Car Audio
Dude. I've been building a 3rd Gen 4Runner for nearly a decade now and, just in the past year, I've gotten back into audio after a 2 decade hiatus and, of course I find your channel. NGL, I love my 4runner but your videos make me daydream about owning a Sequoia.
I gotta hand it to you, you’re the first channel that I know to review one of these. Their amps are proven so I’m curious about these subs. I like the prismatic magnet in case you invert them.
There should be some foam around the edge of that storage panel. You might want to add some. You can also add cloth backed Tessa tape to make it quiet.
I just installed a pair of Sylvester 6.5 in my front doors. It's still running of the factory radio, but they sound great, and I can hear the potential already. I got a jp234 and a Recoil dsp to control everything. I can't wait!!!
@@ParkerTheBassheadhey man I’m wondering what I should go with I’ve got 2 10s rn but I wanna upgrade to 2 15s I’ve looked into the skar vfxs and I was gonna get Thoses but just seen this what should I do? I’m gonna run them on a Memphis 3k
The DBZ reminds me soooo much of the AB XR, the layout is very close, the basket is shaped about the same just different spokes, the surround is very similar and the motor is a very similar diameter double stack, oddly enough the 15" XR has a flat bottom plate/t yoke whatever but oddly enough the 12 has a bumped plate, the coil is . 25 smaller tho the XR has a 3". The XR is AB's SQL sub and they do sound killer and again oddly enough the XR is fairly stiff which is not common with an SQ sub. But XRs are great subs very slept on, they will pound out some thump and are tough, you have to clip the hell out of em to get em stinky, myself I had 2 xr15s on a cab45 and never smelled em but every other sub I've had has even my custom 400oz 15s. So I'm guessing the DBZ's slightly smaller coil won't make much difference and they should be a pretty good sub
Ive been considering a pair of these or the 12s. I cant decide what to get. I listen to a lot of heavy metal with tons of double bass and i worry with the 15s that itll kinda muddle together. Would 12s be better choice?
I have a pair of the DBZ 12's, and they absolutely slam. So far they sound great and get plenty loud. Cooling for the voice coil and motor seem to be adequate.
I know it's almost impossible to do the free air test with a temperature-controlled environment. I see there is snow outside and it must be fairly cold in that garage. I would be curious to see all subs tested in the exact same temperature. Anyways, your channel and content is always good. Thanks for the video.
I can't wait to get 2 15's of the big boy JP subwoofers. I have 4 15" DS18 HOOLIGAN's, but I am only using 2 of them for now. I will let everyone know how the JP's do.
Awesome cant wait for the dvx review before i make my purchase wish they had the 18d2 back in stock at d4s I've been watching both of y'all's videos excellent info and insight
Yeah. That Orion Orange really stands out on that Audiopipe. They are very similar subs. Same power handling/burp power. Both take around 30,000 watts on a burp, and are around 1200.00-1500.00 each
I'm looking to grab this exact size and model next pay. Ironically i just happen to have a extra 2.2 ft3 sealed box laying around and i think these call for 2 sealed so should be perfect.
The vid I was waiting for. Shame you did not push it to failure like you usually do. How do you compare it to the XV3 of the same size? So much is learned from the failure vids on any topic weather it be speakers, tires, engines or anything between. When they fail its nice to know how it failed. Gives you an idea of what to expect.
Great video as always! It would be fun if you did a test sweep and checked the peak frequency, as well as what the subs score on the peak/test frequencies. It would also be fun if you made a decent-sized custom test box tuned to around 34Hz, with a 15-inch cutout and an adapter plate for 12" / 10" and so on for even better results! just an idea from a guy who enjoys your videos!
I really like these I may get a set of 10’s I really like price and they did good on here I’m sure Jp put a lot of r&d into this before slapping them on market I’m a fan thankx
Why not have a bolt run through the bottom of the box and add a small box or something to reduce interior volume for different subs? You can adjust for different volumes.
I’m anxious to see what the real subs are gonna look like in a year or so cause I was disappointed when I first seen them don’t get me wrong. They’re nice subs, but I was expecting some kind of crazy stuff like their amps./and you know they’re coming there’s gonna be some beast of subs coming at some point/they’ll be taking them nightshade monsters out😊😊 if they have an already replaced them with prototypes great video man
I think the "Breaking in" a sub shit is a myth I've literally never broken in a single sub and have never had a problem in the 18 years I've been into car audio
It’s actually not a myth. The TSPs do change from break-in. It’s proven. Materials need to stretch. You will have fibers and epoxy resin crystals breaking a part making the suspension more compliant. Some subs benefit more than others depending on the compliance and materials of the suspension.
It's just not as big of a deal as what some people make it out to be. My Zv5 12's took some time to "break in". Huge difference on the lows over time. I'm tuned to 30hz and frequencies about 26hz to 31hz hit way harder after they loosen up some. I wouldn't say a break in is necessary for the longevity of it though.
The pioneer 6220 is able to be run active like the 80prs, and it has an app to control the radio! Sounds amazing and it's only around $140. I payed 350 for my 80prs over 10 years ago. I switched it out with this so I can put it in collection now!
I am going to look through your videos right now but I just remember hearing something about the big boss turning off when it gets clipping and I was just wondering is it instantly? I am just trying to decide between a smart 8 or the big boss 8 and I dont really want the amp if it clips for 1 second and turns off
I run the smart 8 and I can clip for a little bit if I want. It's not a crazy hard clip though. When I tuned my amp I did it with the volume 2 clicks below my max clean volume.
You already did the review on these couple months back Parker or did you not notice the similarities and identical basket and cone which really no one else has used until now. That basket only comes out of one manufacturer and now I know undoubtedly where and whom these are made by. I smell fresh baked cookies 🤭
The real question is did he give it to you to do what you wanted to do with it or is it promotion We want to see if it can last to smoke test We want to see if you going to max it out or are you just babysitting it
Why everytime you doing a test on these new subwoofer you always uses that skar pre fab box and expect the subwoofer to play good and get high numbers in spl
I've ordered 2 separate amp from d4s but never received any free t shirts. Im still feeling bummed out. Hey but they gave this grown man lolly pop to suck on

Just got home and hit couch. First thing I did was watch this review. Thanks Parker
It's looking a little chilly in your office there Parker. Thanks for showing us all these tests.
