- This short video is a collaboration between www.Love-Weymouth.co.uk, www.Visit-Dorset.tv and a number of amateur drone users who gave us their footage to edit. It was first shown at the Best of Dorset Show in March 2014 in Weymouth
It was a real pleasure to put this together and we were really pleased to see so many people enjoying it on the big screen as part of their Best of Dorset Experience.

For those interested in the technical side of things it was shot in HD using with a GoPro Hero 3+ on a DJI Phantom quadcopter. Some image stabilisation was carried out during edit using FCP X

Beautiful footage as we were in Weymouth for my friend's birthday on 31.8.18 and walked along the seafront and had a trip on the Skyline tower..was awesome and the views across Weymouth bay were amazing on a beautiful day. On 1st Sept. we drove to Portland Bill and had another lovely day walking around and had a lovely Ploughmans lunch in The Pulpit Pub there...weather was Fab and we just loved the area...thank you for sharing your lovely video...we have lovely memories of our visit there 😁👍👍

I stayed there for a week back in 2011 and again in 2012 when I worked for the Olympic Games. I walked the full length of the beach and did the Rodwell Trail too. So beautiful there and so many good memories.

This is a magnificent Drone Capture Aerial Photography witch most people will enjoy from viewing from their armchair or mobile devices. Well done chaps regardless of alleged breach of the law by obviously Dead Jealous pain in the BUTT PC correct others, like Rob Munro.

It's sad to think that I was there just a few days ago, but glad to be going back in August :)
My grand parents and 2 of aunts and uncles lived in Weymouth as did my dad, Shame the Rec has gone where the football club played now an ASDA car park, Devonish brewery has gone as has the torpedo works. The town has completely changed, use to love swimming out from the Nothe to the raft. Last time I went on holiday to Weymouth was 1997 found out I could holiday in Florida for 2 weeks at the same cost of 2 weeks in Weymouth Decided to visit Weymouth again in May. Always use to take home a fresh crab from the Chaplehay Heights pub at first always told they had none but that was because i am not a local, then my aunt who played darts for the pub said he's my nephew - so I was taken to a room with quite a few crabs to choose from.

I use to live in WestHam in Weymouth when i was a kid and my parents decided to move to Isle Of Portland in Fortuneswell.i miss living there .

did you have permission to fly drones here?
Good though this footage is, as already noted, woefully in breach of the law. You can't fly within 150m of a congested area (defined clearly in law) unless you have CAA Permissions for Aerial Work and even then the limit is usually 50m. Any footage from amateurs is highly likely to be in breach of CAP 393 (the Air Navigation Order). This will only serve to make it harder for those of us who are qualified to use drones.
