They want to cut the pollination costs for almonds by 50% and their goal is to have 8M hives which tells me they’re baking in a 50% colony loss and still be able to pollinate all almonds (1.63M acres @ 2 hives per acre.) IF, and it’s a big IF, they’re successful with that it’s a join or die scenario for smaller beekeepers. If they aren’t able to supply hives for all almond acreage then the growers will certainly get price gouged by beekeepers that do have the hives. It’s a loss for growers and beekeepers.
I myself do have concerns, a large entity, having control over all of us individuals. If we sign an NDA, we lose our ability to speak out, if this entity goes sideways. However, we do need to have these chemicals exposed. humans and animals survival . The harmful effects that can occurred due to these chemicals can be detrimental.
“How dare we use chemicals to manage our crops.” It’s a superficial statement. We use chemicals to manage problem with food production, If we don’t, we take losses. Until you the consumer is ready to pay for change, we need to use these tools. Otherwise we go broke and consumers continue buying from off shore, from the very practices they tell us not to do. Humberto, your videos are starting to sound alarmist. These are videos that BIG Environment make
I’ll address this point in another video. It’s not about taking tools away. It’s about releasing the path to create better tools for farmers. I’m not a crazy tree hugger naturalist.
I appreciate the open discussion. I am aware of the situation. I want to fight capitalism with capitalism. We need better solutions. Better tools. These ones are reaching other parts of the society where we are not measuring the damages. I hope RNAi can start to help to limit the spread of other highly reactive chemicals in the environment.
Your caption is click bait and points a pretty critical finger at farmers. How about the same finger pointed towards beekeepers, using the same chemicals to combat the same issues. This isn’t capitalism fighting capitalism, this is activism
Thank you for shedding some light on this. I’m new to beekeeping and had no idea about geocure. I’ve worked in the agricultural industry all my life as my degree is in horticulture and entomology. Very few small businesses are in the market because of the few massive companies that dominate everything. It’s not a healthy, diverse, capitalistic market like it could be. Thanks for your work!❤
It's a really bad move. Ive seen these so called Coop in other industries. Get rid of all the opposition and do what you want when you want. It doesn't matter who's at the bottom of the tree, they'll always use recognisable names. But the money man calls the shots.
I’m in Canada neoniconoids is the bad for everything I don’t like them i did my own look on them there goona screw things up if one player gets all the colonies that’s scary
I wish beekeepers had like a union with law people that could fight for us we have no one I love it they banned them chemical yes I don’t like them I think it’s bad and I don’t think they will contact you they won’t want to answer your questions I would be shocked if they do your a good guy call them all out bro

Thank you for following up with this story.
Don’t forget beekeepers are also farmers who use chemicals and antibiotics to manage our issues as well.
I think he forgot Ian.

Finally somebody is thinking like I am . I been saying that about insecticide for over 10 year's. Thank you .
Bigger is never ever ever better

Co-Ops of keepers is a good idea but Geocure feels monopolistic at best and a seriously bad idea at worst.
Tough year for bees this year and their keepers.
Concerned

The industry is ripe for the picking, just like convenience stores and funeral homes once were. But, the money… don’t tell us it’s Elon!
If there is a coop like that, there will be no more small bee keepers as they will lobby to change the laws... It's not a good idea.
If it is Bill Gates or George Soros... run, run away.
I worry about a Monsanto type of company trying to take over our industry
The thumbnail in the hot tub got me.
