    The amazing thing is that despite the great civil war, the number of factions involved, the ethnic groups etc. Bolsheviks managed to reconquer almost all of former Russian Empire (exceptions being only Poland, Baltics and Finland)

    • @fkostyuk
      @fkostyuk 6 лет назад +29

      Well many people followed the bolsheviks, seeing them as saviours of russian sovereignity. And then they all got purged

  • @Evilstr98

    I've learned about some of these from the concessions of the Brest-Litovsk treaty. The Far-Eastern Republic, the Caucasus and the Red FInns jumped out at me. I didn't even know the smaller states on here existed! Maybe it's that they've lasted in such short time nobody took notice of its existence.

      Nationalist From Canada Yes they did. More than 30, arguably. Take a look at a map of Gallia before it was conquered by Rome, there is like 50 different ethnic groups, each with their own name trying to stay independent

      That realistically relies on them never being discovered... which was enviable do to actions in the old World. It's also not like they could invade or fight back as The New World... Was kinda handicapped in development do to a number of reasons none of which the natives could control like having no reliable Beast of Burden, or the geography of the New World. Well that last part severed as a natural barrier to keep them from contact but eventually that was kinda removed as Portugal and Spain started building ships for long distance Oceanic voyages.

    • @kathibaba7665
      @kathibaba7665 6 лет назад

      It's still interesting. Besides in this scenario presented by Vologda Mapping, America was discovered and the native states were slowly getting the benefits of the old world technologies and the horse.
