    Yes, they really did twist them together. They're called wire nuts, a solderless connector. Work well when sized correctly. Nice job.

    Especially aesthetic restoration. It's easy to do a restoration if you have spare parts. Where did you find the red plastic edges? What material did you use to close the insulation holes in the electric resistance plate? Do the resistors work correctly at the different powers after the restoration?

    Your repair skills are amazing. Where did you learn the electrical and the rust removal and the refabricating parts skills? Also, instead of using solder, what did you use on the plug part (that would have melted)? Excuse the questions but I am really curious! 🤔🤗

      Thank you very much :) I have a little interest in electricity since the past :) I used a 12 volt battery there and used graphite as the electrode from a battery.

    The twisted wires ??, I think it is used mainkly in America , the caps are called wire nuts and you wind them on like a nut as the name suggests . Not a fan of them myself .
    Another great restoration , you must have a house full of old restored cookers now 😄. I personally like the old camping stoves you have restored

      You are right, the procedures may differ from country to country. I am very happy with your interest in my videos. Yes, for a while, wherever I set foot in the house, I came across a camp stove :) I gave many of them to my friends as gifts. This is a modern hot plate. Some designs have color changing paint in the center, that shows when it's hot. I have never seen one apart. I can tell it's not as good as the older design. This newer model looks like the heat element has thin wires and potted with some heat resistant plaster. Seems fragile. The older designs have a coil that is thick and the connections are robust. The coil would glow red when hot.

    I attempt to fix all broken things. Oddly enough, in the USA, I have found it extremely difficult to purchase that "odd" part for a washer which is not a common brand here, or find a replacement double cardan joint for my 20 year old vehicle because it was made in Brittain, or find that weird bearing in a $12 fan because it was a "cheap" fan. It is extremely irritating that other countries think they should make us buy a whole new something because the think everybody in the other country is made out of money!
    I was not even able to replace an on/off switch on a simple rice cooker.
    Really, it angers me that so many businesses throughout the world think it is okay to pollute just to make the extra dollar and making employees work in unsafe conditions.
    People!

      Its because of the market that the producers and buyers have created . Buyers want cheaper things so the makers use less strong materials and so the product does not last so long . Part of it is what i have just said and part of it is the greed of the company selling the items .Some things you can still find but it can take time to search for them .
      What is the car that you have ??

    Excelent as always. I want to ask you. What is the material inside the heat (where the 2 cables are not in place i mean.) with grey color. I think is a conductive heat material but i don't know the name. Could be asbesto like the mineral?

    • @Restomaniac
      @Restomaniac  3 года назад

      Thank you :) This is a relatively modern product, they no longer use asbestos. The insulating material here appears to be made of quartz powder.
