Thank you for the hope and reasonableness woven into this talk.
I need to hold onto the idea that over time the injury gets better and that even w insomnia I can still work the other helpers - exercise, meditation and diet. I am incredibly fortunate that I have a sister and spouse that stand by me in spite of my prickly ways.

My sister was told after 25+years to tapper off antidepressants to do one every other day for a week then switch to gabapentin to calm her anxiety. This sounds so very dangerous to me. This came from a highly reputable psychiatrist. Which I believe does not know about how to do this. I shared this video with her. Thanks for your super knowledge. ❤️

Please make a video aimed at the caregivers and loved ones of people suffering from benzodiazepine withdrawal that explains what the patient is going through and how they can help and support them my experience has been that it’s impossible for me to explain what I’m going through and therefore I get a wide range of unhelpful reactions to my predicament thank you

It should be illegal for a doctor to abruptly cut patients off benzodiazepines unless the patient’s life is in immediate danger. Slow, symptom driven tapering should be taught n med school.

My thoughts exactly. Thinking of sueing.. that doctor stole 20 years of my life by cutting me off cold turkey.

@@carmenclark9676understandable. After over a year of tapering and a year or more to go, it’s still brutal. I can’t imagine being CTd. I’m so very sorry.

After a 25 year relationship I'm breaking up with my benzo. The taper has taken almost 2 years going from 30mg daily to about 2mg at the moment. The journey's been long and even frightening at times but hopefully I'm almost there and I'm never going back.

@23.15 "Everybody heals" I need to let you know that this is not the case. PLEASE stop saying that, it's just NOT true. I know many people like myself around 15 years off and still having nerve pain and other brain damage issues.
I want to add that for me the best thing I did to prepare for my w/d was to read the book "Power of Now" and practice for a couple years staying present. That is the main reason I survived extreme severe hell on Earth that went on for years.

Hope your days are blessed and you have many with comfort and no pain. This post is for a comment from a couple of months ago but felt it important to say hello and wish you all the best. Were it true that all would completely heal....unfortunately there will always be different degrees. Take care!

How do I go about tapering when I’m on more than one psych med (ssri and benzo)? Is it better to taper the ssri or the benzo first? Or alternate between them? My doc is not informed on these things.

      Benzo first.

Don’t take advice from random strangers on the internet. Get ahold of a taper specialist Doctor. Like Dr Witt-Doerring.

I would like Pharma to be more regulated, what they are doing is a crime. Also the young drs are so wrong and they think they are helping, if they knew more they would change career or they would be like you, but they are so few that take the time to listen their patience and know how to taper and about withdrawals, they give meds and then they label patience and misdiagnostic them
