Dude! GREAT review! Very honest, sincere and straight to the point. Cool Midwest accent and VERY informative and accurate, as far as I can tell. I actually went to Bethnal Green and got me a pair from this shop that only deals in cash and on the spot; won't ship. But great selection and prices. Oddly enough it was the summer of 2014..
Dude...thank you because of your excellent review i ordered the correct size!!! Was worried about having to return overseas. I wear a 9.5 and based on what you said you got...i ordered a uk 8..they fit perfectly!!
No no no In the UK in the 70s , MB were every boys MUST HAVE. Along with grey or green Parker coat! My mum could never afford them, but yep I’m 50 later this year and I just got my first ones 🤗 You given a spot on accurate review btw👍🏼
I had some in the early 70's and just for fun I bought a pair a few months ago. Never realised how utterly shit they are!! Still wearing 'em to justify the purchase but....no....avoid at all costs.
I loved my monkey boots I always had them in the 70s my punk days right through to my goth days up to the 90s and now I'm still goth but I now wear new rock..
Grafters were the original distributors but manufactured in Czechoslovakia ( Now Czech Republic ).. We would wear Doc's or Monkeys but we preferred Monkey's when climbing those massive Douglas Fir or Oak trees..
, mum would only let me have black monkey boots so now in my 60s I have finally got a pair of cherry red yellow laces. Now whenever I wear them somebody always can tell what era I went to school (70s)
About the same. They are tight when you first get them and if you wear sneakers all the time your feet will hurt during break in. After that you'll love them.
Summer boots, bought my first pair when I was in my early teens... Still buying and wearing them many years later..

My school friends and I had monkey boots in the mid 70's...

Best shoe review ever.
Damn had those in 93. Haven't seen another pair til this video.
How are the support in these ? I saw Grafters on Amazon for 79.00 dollars. Are they worth it ?

What exactly is a monkey boot? I was wondering whether or not this was based on a military style, but I just assumed it was a fashion thing.
Just ordered mine used to have several pairs in the 70’s and 80’s can’t wait to get them
I have a pair!I like them better than Doc's....

The Burgundy ones ! Classic
Where to buy???
I've had a pair since 1987
grafter shoes are pretty cheap, are they good quality? or should i just order solovair shoes?
Get the Solovair as they're built stronger
Solovair are made sturdier; I would use monkey boots for the spring/summer.
are they unlined?
The whole of the United Kingdom for generations are very well familiar with Monkey Boots my friend ...Americans ...not so much
How do they compare in size to Docs?
About the same. They are tight when you first get them and if you wear sneakers all the time your feet will hurt during break in. After that you'll love them.
Skins Girls 🤪
Dr martens break the bank and your feet.🇬🇧
I'm looking for the 12 hole Monkey Boots. Anyone know where to get them?
Used to have blue 12 hole, looked all over and haven’t had any luck
@@mattjones3963 It sounds like they don't make them anymore. Oh well.
@@mattjones3963
12 holes?
The kool thing is the low profile of these boots.
