Kaggy. I don't know if anyone explained but Goku's form was based on Sun Wukong and his abilities. Like if he touched anyone then he can transfer the knowledge of his abilities almost instantly and so that why Vegeta could do the Kamehameha. This animation deserves to be seen by everyone.
The "Saviour from heaven" title is also very similar to Sun Wukong's "Great Sage Equal To Heaven." Which he gave himself and forced people to call him after he pissed off everyone in heaven.
The savior of the heavens form is actually one of Sunwukong's transformations and his only demonic one. Basically Stray Dogs was like what if we keep more of the Wukong influence, have the saiyans be thought of early and make Z Broly a thing just cause. And they made the form works so well in DB logic with having it be because Goku's body can't handle SSJ in that Era but his will was just to strong so it just made him access an Astral form (which are what Wukong uses) and specifically turn into the savior of the heavens form due to his pure genes interacting with his bodies unableness to go SSJ at the moment and so his connection to ki caused this transformation instead. A form which is so overpowered as that thing Vegeta did holding his wrist out is because the savior form if they touch wrist can temporarily let the person do the same technique as them but sense it dragonball Goku's savior of the heavens form restored Vegeta's energy and let him do the Kamehameha at the same time as Goku. Also gotta love how they gave Chichi's outfit the same outfit colors as Wukong's girl just to compliment Goku's outfit colors which are Wukong's outfit colors. Edit: Also if I had to guess they are going to war with the entire cold army but Broly is gonna show up and start fighting both parties.

In this universe, it seems that the Super Saiyan energy is like a fire inside each Saiyan that they can each touch and manipulate differently. Super cool lore that could make sense in established canon but also lets the Stray Dogs do some different shit with it.

For anyone confused The film is a original take / mish mash of what we love from Dragon Ball. Goku's whole ghost rider thing was actually him turning into Son Wukong (Who Goku is based off of hence the monkey look) Vegeta knew the Kamehameha cuz in the actual Son Wukong story... He could share powers and techniques by touching wrists. (Peep how before the final blast Vegeta got Super Saiyan back and instantly knew to use Goku's move) Lastly peep the audience... Saitama... Akuma... Akira Toriyama and a few others make a cameo.

Finally, Goku doesn't even flinch at someone like him showing up in a spacecraft. Perhaps he is more aware of his origins in this continuity.

I never thought I'd say it, but Goku's transformation eclipsed SSJ4 in its own concept. It perfectly blends the primal rage of the Osaru with the focus and technique of a martial artist and the emotional power of Super Saiyan - and it invokes the original character inspiration in Sun Wukong to boot. I absolutely love it. Also, bandit Broly is hot as f*ck.
Eh, to me it just doesn't seem dragon ball to me, this feels like some marvel ghost rider shit to me, which yeah its cool af, but if this showed up in actual dragon ball I'd be like "Uhhhh that doesn't really fit with the feel of the show, not a fan of this"

For anyone who didnt know, this is supposed to be a what-if of if the Frieza force never existed, or more likely, if they never took over the Saiyans, giving them time to develop into a true kingdom.
I agree with the second idea and given how already this such a massive departure from the original story, I'd say still say Frieza would be the next major antagonist but with Vegeta's comment on "War", the whole Frieza Force seems to have gotten a massive buff in terms of size and strength for regular soldiers, needing a whole army of Saiyans to defeat them. Super Saiyan most likely wouldn't be enough to battle Frieza considering how early they introduce them.

My theory is, the Saiyans are scared of Frieza because he could end the saiyans entirely. And vegeta is gathering them all up for war. That’s why he says “a war is coming”. This means we could also see raditz, nappa, or maybe even vegeta’s little brother.
My favorite "theory" is that this is a "what-if" that Vegeta went back in time to when he was born but was able to keep all his memories of the original timeline. Makes sense contextually speaking and actually goes kinda crazy
Vegeta and Broly are time travelers ... Broly came to kill Goku when he is weak... Vegeta came to stop Broly.... Vegeta learnt the Kamehameha from Goku in the future .... But that Dragon Galick gun was maddddddd.... That war can be the the Frieza force vs the Saiyans because Vegeta came from the future where the sayians won.... But they seemed divided and Freiza contracted the Legend Broly to kill Goku in the past... I wonder if Goku was killed in the future during the war ... Vegeta did tell him that his days under the sun was numbered 🤔
Glowing scars would be lore accurate in some way too. Because the way Saiyans can become exponentially stronger if they push their bodies to the absolute limit before a close death in battle, battle scars would totally be full of zenkai boosted cells.
Maybe not all of DBZ or the Sequels. DBZ kinda ends randomly with the idea that Goku and Uub are probably the two strongest, and the Sequels go with the idea of someone always being stronger.
I love how Super Saiyan has been reimagined as less of a transformation and more like a state of mind or focus, like how Vegeta kept getting knocked out of it by Broly, and how it can be used not just as the transformation but for techniques like the sword and presumably others. Goku's new form also needs to become canon, it hits the sweet spot between Super Saiyan 4 and regular Super Saiyan.
I like how Vegeta was the focus and the concept of being knocked out of your form. I would like it if this series doesn't make Vegeta second fiddle but am equal.
Those were my favorite parts of this video. I want to see that more in the anime. The closest we got was in the ToP when Freeza and Goku took out Jiren.
That Sun Wukong Transformation is, no joke, the best fan made transformation I’ve seen. Really wanted to see something like that as canon cause holy shit that was amazing.
Honestly, I never found Vegeta knowing the Kamehameha in this animation all that surprising. In canon, he’s seen Goku perform it a bunch of times. And seeing as how Goku learned it as a child just by watching Master Roshi do it once, it’s not that hard to believe Vegeta could learn it too after all the times he’s seen Goku do it over the years.
Wouldn't be surprised if we get a training arc where Nappa and Raditz gain enough power to transfer super energy into their weapons. The polearm and spear. Having unique weapons would be cool.
The most exciting thing about this is the old school animation style. I think its way better than what the original does. It brings more real life essence to the characters and it still has great voice acting. Still how does Vegeta know Gokus signature move? Love this stuff 10 thumbs up.
The way the choreography of the fight is handled is just pure awesome I could tell that those hits really would cause some serious damage honestly much better than how Supers fights were animated in my opinion tbh
@@allsparkwarrier well compare thos to an episode of super and yeah, but a better comparison would be this to thr broly movie, since they both had years of work done on them. And even then some episodes of super, like episode 129 and 130 had animation on the same level. And if there's 1 issue I have with the style of this animation, it's the sort of hard stop from big hits before movement happens, like multiple times here hits land and for like a quarter of a second nothing happens, trying to build up the impact of it but it just makes it a bit off at times. But it's still great
I've actually been thinking that the animation feels very similar to something to Kill La Kill and in some of the instances I do notice the small window of time between hits connecting and getting blown back and I'm sure if and when this continues they can improve on that
Goku's Transformation is a callback to the inspiration of his character from Sun Wu Kong the Monkey King of Chinese Mythology, and from the story Journey to the West.
11:05 Vegeta would know Kamehamheha due to seeing Goku do it. I’m sure he had some sort of observation and intel on Goku before coming to earth. Goku, as a child, Krillin as a child, and Yamaha, all learned the Kamahameha by just seeing it more or less. Yamaha may have trained off screen, but both Goku and Krillin just did it the first time. I’m sure Vegeta could pick it up, being a savant at battle (especially in this verse it seems)
I've watch his work on his channel and it was the best dragon ball fan animation ever it satisfied the fans. Can't wait for more of these which I'm hoping it will be a fan series

Dude I love the idea of Goku's super Saiyan actually being the monkey king. Like make him actually sun wukong, also the reason Vegeta learned Kamehameha because Goku shared the info with him which is a actual ability the monkey king had. He can share abilities and knowledge as well as transformations
Studio Stray Dog is the same group that contributed to Lego Monkie Kid. I had high hopes for this animation, and my hopes had been fulfilled a thousand times over!!
I loved this animation cause it had a Trigger (my fav studio) kind of feel too it, and was def inspired at least a little bit by Trigger (the letters behind Vegeta tell that, it's a reference to Kill La Kill). Voice acting was phenomenal. I saw someone say that it also really fits really well into the King (Vegeta), the Myth (Goku), and the Legend (Broly) whole kind of thing which is just A+. The form Goku took being more inspired by Sun Wukong (which Goku is obv based off of) is awesome. As well as the whole Saiyan's being the holder of the primal light. If the original story was as Naseer Pasha tells us in this, I don't think Dragon Ball would be any less of a masterpiece as it is today. I know it took four years, but iirc he worked off and on and it wasn't a full time thing. I'm also sure that he learned a lot during the process that would speed up making another one. With a team I have no doubt he could put out a movie every couple years. It would be incredible if Toriyama could accept this universe as a spin-off and have Naseer direct it. Either way I'm sure this will take his career to the next level and I wish him the best. Edit: Someone said that in the original legend of Sun Wukong he could share techniques by touching wrists, same as Goku did in this. Even more credit to Naseer's storytelling right there.
I will gladly wait 4* years for even a chance of another animation because this man has transcended expectations, impressions, and studio levels of cinematography, good FUCKING job to him
I like to think that Vegeta would take on more of a teaching role to Kakarot. He clearly stated that his “light” which I assume is what they call “S-cells” (just go with it, I don’t like them but here it would actually make a little sense) and that he needs to refine it before it can be useful. Who better to teach him then vegeta? Idk it would just be awesome
That was amazing. My only complaint is Vegeta knowing some of those moves. It was like he was either a time traveler or someone who was stalking Goku and others the entire time.
The move Vegeta shouldn't know is the Kamehameha but that's due to the savior of heaven transformation, considering the transformation is based on Sun Wukong and he is able to share knowledge of his techniques so can the Savior of heaven
Definitely seeing some Cowboy Bebop influence in the animation, some Space Battleship Yamato, obvi the classic DBZ/GT vibe, it's just so 80s/90s crisp! As a child of both the 80s and 90s, and an anime fan going way back (though back then I had no idea it was anything different from just 'regular cartoons'), this speaks to me on so many levels. And I love Goku's OC transformation, equal parts Heatblast from Ben 10, Zarathos from Marvel, and Sun Wukong the OG inspiration for Goku. And apparently Stray Dog Studios is from my home and native land, to boot!

Random thought I just had: we know that Frieza didn't wipe out the Saiyans and that Raditz is still alive, so does that mean that Bardock and Gine are still alive as well? Cuz that raises a whole load of questions like why they didn't come find Goku after Frieza was defeated? Maybe they died during the battle against Frieza, or maybe they were unable to locate Goku until now. Because somehow Vegeta knows Goku despite him being born to a low class warrior.
My guess is that Gine died during their fight with Freeza, triggering Bardock's Super Saiyan form. Then he fought Freeza and won an the cost of his life. Because of that, he was hailed as the hero of the Saiyan race. That would give Vegeta to come to Earth to find Goku, cuz he realized that son of the hero is still alive. So he made it his mission to find him and train him to join in the war. You can tell I had fun writing this.

Not quite. He went there to get goku. The description mentions he was on a retrieval mission. Also goku turns into Sun Wukong and one of the abilities he has is he can share his knowledge and power with somebody by them touching their wrists together. Which is why during that final blast when they touched wrists and the flames went towards vegeta not only did he get more energy to go super saiyan but he also got gokus knowledge of the Kamehameha

Glowing scars would be lore accurate in some way too. Because the way Saiyans can become exponentially stronger if they push their bodies to the absolute limit before a close death in battle, battle scars would totally be full of zenkai boosted cells.

I want this to be a series so bad. It’s just so clean. And love they put in it shows. This fan animation nailed what DBZ and DB stand for.
Maybe not all of DBZ or the Sequels. DBZ kinda ends randomly with the idea that Goku and Uub are probably the two strongest, and the Sequels go with the idea of someone always being stronger.
I love how Super Saiyan has been reimagined as less of a transformation and more like a state of mind or focus, like how Vegeta kept getting knocked out of it by Broly, and how it can be used not just as the transformation but for techniques like the sword and presumably others. Goku's new form also needs to become canon, it hits the sweet spot between Super Saiyan 4 and regular Super Saiyan.
That gave me chills, it's been a long times since I've seen a fan animation that made me feel hype like that.
I love the Vegeta voice actor, it's different obviously but has a swagger to it that is so fitting for this Vegeta.
I like how Vegeta was the focus and the concept of being knocked out of your form. I would like it if this series doesn't make Vegeta second fiddle but am equal.
Those were my favorite parts of this video. I want to see that more in the anime. The closest we got was in the ToP when Freeza and Goku took out Jiren.

Honestly, I never found Vegeta knowing the Kamehameha in this animation all that surprising. In canon, he’s seen Goku perform it a bunch of times. And seeing as how Goku learned it as a child just by watching Master Roshi do it once, it’s not that hard to believe Vegeta could learn it too after all the times he’s seen Goku do it over the years.
It’s apparently a thing Sun Wukong can do, by just touching someone they can gain some of his knowledge, which is why he touched his hand.

The most exciting thing about this is the old school animation style. I think its way better than what the original does. It brings more real life essence to the characters and it still has great voice acting. Still how does Vegeta know Gokus signature move? Love this stuff 10 thumbs up.
They referenced Son Wukong in Goku's form, and one of his abilities is sharing techniques, so that's why Vegeta can use Kamehameha.

The way the choreography of the fight is handled is just pure awesome I could tell that those hits really would cause some serious damage honestly much better than how Supers fights were animated in my opinion tbh
Thos has been in development for years, while an episode of super was made in a week, that's not really a fair comparison

@@allsparkwarrier well compare thos to an episode of super and yeah, but a better comparison would be this to thr broly movie, since they both had years of work done on them. And even then some episodes of super, like episode 129 and 130 had animation on the same level. And if there's 1 issue I have with the style of this animation, it's the sort of hard stop from big hits before movement happens, like multiple times here hits land and for like a quarter of a second nothing happens, trying to build up the impact of it but it just makes it a bit off at times. But it's still great
I've actually been thinking that the animation feels very similar to something to Kill La Kill and in some of the instances I do notice the small window of time between hits connecting and getting blown back and I'm sure if and when this continues they can improve on that

11:05 Vegeta would know Kamehamheha due to seeing Goku do it. I’m sure he had some sort of observation and intel on Goku before coming to earth. Goku, as a child, Krillin as a child, and Yamaha, all learned the Kamahameha by just seeing it more or less. Yamaha may have trained off screen, but both Goku and Krillin just did it the first time. I’m sure Vegeta could pick it up, being a savant at battle (especially in this verse it seems)
I've watch his work on his channel and it was the best dragon ball fan animation ever it satisfied the fans. Can't wait for more of these which I'm hoping it will be a fan series

I loved this animation cause it had a Trigger (my fav studio) kind of feel too it, and was def inspired at least a little bit by Trigger (the letters behind Vegeta tell that, it's a reference to Kill La Kill). Voice acting was phenomenal. I saw someone say that it also really fits really well into the King (Vegeta), the Myth (Goku), and the Legend (Broly) whole kind of thing which is just A+. The form Goku took being more inspired by Sun Wukong (which Goku is obv based off of) is awesome. As well as the whole Saiyan's being the holder of the primal light. If the original story was as Naseer Pasha tells us in this, I don't think Dragon Ball would be any less of a masterpiece as it is today.
I know it took four years, but iirc he worked off and on and it wasn't a full time thing. I'm also sure that he learned a lot during the process that would speed up making another one. With a team I have no doubt he could put out a movie every couple years. It would be incredible if Toriyama could accept this universe as a spin-off and have Naseer direct it. Either way I'm sure this will take his career to the next level and I wish him the best.
Edit: Someone said that in the original legend of Sun Wukong he could share techniques by touching wrists, same as Goku did in this. Even more credit to Naseer's storytelling right there.

Definitely seeing some Cowboy Bebop influence in the animation, some Space Battleship Yamato, obvi the classic DBZ/GT vibe, it's just so 80s/90s crisp! As a child of both the 80s and 90s, and an anime fan going way back (though back then I had no idea it was anything different from just 'regular cartoons'), this speaks to me on so many levels. And I love Goku's OC transformation, equal parts Heatblast from Ben 10, Zarathos from Marvel, and Sun Wukong the OG inspiration for Goku.
And apparently Stray Dog Studios is from my home and native land, to boot!

Random thought I just had: we know that Frieza didn't wipe out the Saiyans and that Raditz is still alive, so does that mean that Bardock and Gine are still alive as well? Cuz that raises a whole load of questions like why they didn't come find Goku after Frieza was defeated? Maybe they died during the battle against Frieza, or maybe they were unable to locate Goku until now. Because somehow Vegeta knows Goku despite him being born to a low class warrior.
My guess is that Gine died during their fight with Freeza, triggering Bardock's Super Saiyan form. Then he fought Freeza and won an the cost of his life. Because of that, he was hailed as the hero of the Saiyan race.
That would give Vegeta to come to Earth to find Goku, cuz he realized that son of the hero is still alive. So he made it his mission to find him and train him to join in the war.

Not quite. He went there to get goku. The description mentions he was on a retrieval mission. Also goku turns into Sun Wukong and one of the abilities he has is he can share his knowledge and power with somebody by them touching their wrists together. Which is why during that final blast when they touched wrists and the flames went towards vegeta not only did he get more energy to go super saiyan but he also got gokus knowledge of the Kamehameha
