When I began watching this, the first thing I thought of was "I wish I could be outside wearing shorts!" as I sit here shivering inside with my four layers of clothing on, LOL! I see some awesome art going on!
Very nice video, nice to see the art and the equipment that the sketchers use. Also it is great to see all ages and new people. Ten years that is amazing! thanks Teoh.
Thanks. What I didn't know about this-- never heard about it before, is they are just about anywhere (one in my city for sure) and you don't need to be a professional artist or anything. Also the range of skill is immense. So anyone watching this channel can join. Thanks for letting us know about it and recording what goes on. Your videos are very good.
Lovely work, everyone! What a great video...thoroughly enjoyed seeing everyone and I liked that you introduced us to some of the sketchers individually. Nice to see Alvin there...what a neat gadget he's using for filming! Love his sense of humour and have been following his channel since you mentioned him in one of your previous videos. I think I also see Frances there too...awesome sketcher! Thanks so much for sharing the experience with us, Teoh.
Teoh, as always very talented and fun artists. Seems like the Singapore sketchers are always enjoying the days . Your quality of the videos gets better every day. Thanks again for bringing them to us.
Just an idea, but i am always curious why people choose to use this or that art tool for a sketch, maybe you can ask them what they love about their pen or pencils or colours or papers and how they use it. I am interested what peoples preferences are and why. :) Great video! :)
Wow! It was so nice to see people's different styles and mediums they use! I'm trying to get better at urban sketching, but do you have and tips on perspectives?
+Nidhi Rao Just practise on getting proportions and angles right. Use the pencil measuring technique with stretched out arm (search RUclips for videos). If you can get proportions and angles right, you don't need to know perspective to draw perspective.
You have to find different ways to draw it. Focus on a specific area, use different tools, different techniques. Lots of way to draw the same thing, just like how all the different sketchers have interpreted the same scene differently
For those close up shots and shots from a far, I used a different lens that can blur out the background more. So I guess you can say that there's more background blur and subject isolation in this video. I wanted to try a different lens to see how the video will look and feel.
Ahhhh, makes sense. How do you feel about the result? Did it take longer to film? I like how it gives more focus on the subject but I'm also less able to use a still to sketch if I wish to, haha.
On my favorites list :) When you are on your skateboard it seems as though you are floating..........
+Deb Smith The floating in front of camera look is quite unusual 😂🤣

great view of your sketchwalk. in NY, we had 0 degree Celsius weather. A little extreme even for New y
Yorkers! But, a fun day was had by all.
+Suzala Suzala That's really too cold to be sketching. 😱

hello teoh, singapore waterfront is a famous attraction, is it easy to find a new angle to sketch in a familiar place?
You have to find different ways to draw it. Focus on a specific area, use different tools, different techniques. Lots of way to draw the same thing, just like how all the different sketchers have interpreted the same scene differently
Not sure if I'm unobservant or hallucinating or not but did you change your filming set up? Cause the quality of the clips seem to have improved!

There’s off brands that are cheaper and just as enjoyable to use
Have you managed to sketch at all? :))
My sketch is at the top left at 5:44
