I missed making these. WrestleMania XXVII's build was stronger than the show. They really brought The Rock and though, whatever. What did you think of WrestleMania XXVII?
Maybe being biased since I was at 26 but I liked it more than 27 it was lackluster

In 2011, the Royal Rumble was bad, Wrestlemania was one of the worst, and the saving grace of that year was CM Punk pimpbomb storyline. Even though CM Punk run in mid 2011 was great, they somehow botched that up, Because that's WWE in 2011!
I met The Miz and Maryse at the Gamestop Expo years ago. This was the time when he was IC champion and I asked if I could touch the title, he's like go for it. After getting the picture with them I told told Miz "Thanks for beating John Cena at WM". He looks and says, "You got it man!" hahaha
I'm glad you got that moment. And even though I always love John Cena, I'm happy for The Miz and his success.
What i liked about the Miz/Cena match is the story. A kid who used to watch WWF with his friends on the coach, to now have these same friends in the front row seats to watch Miz as the WWE champion in the main event of Wrestlemania against John Cena (and he even won the match). That's just crazy. There was a moment in the entrance of Miz where he showed the title to his friends to tell them "I made it guys". It gave the vibes of "everyone can make it to the top".

This show has a special place in my heart cause this wrestlemania was my first memory of wrestling and my first memory in general

WrestleMania 27 had so much potential. Rock being host should’ve meant that this one would be a fantastic one, with little bad. But what we got, was such a disappointing mess, and it sucks. While we did get some great matches like Edge Vs Alberto, Rey Vs Cody, Punk Vs Orton, and HHH Vs Undertaker, the rest was just forgettable and some were even bad. Like why Jerry Vs Cole? And Snooki? Just no. And that main event, it was very dull in my opinion, and it sucks, given how great Miz and Cena were during this time. Overall, I truly wished this one could’ve been special, but it ended being eh, and you never want to associate eh with WrestleMania. Oh well. At least the following year succeeded beyond expectations, and that’s what matters, right? Great review, bro.😊👍

Cena vs Miz was supposed to be good but miz got a concussion .
It's the Michael Cole vs Jerry Lawler Match which was way too long. I enjoyed CM Punk vs Randy Orton and HHH vs Undertaker. Edge vs Del Rio was also not bad, but the other matches we're not good booked.
So 28 is one I'm interested in, but I want to another WM first

@@damaniresida6439 he was literally feuding with John Cena until that feud was dropped unceremoniously after Royal Rumble. When they started feuding again the first half wasn’t even brought up. It already had a story behind it wereas miz Vs Cena just kinda happened

Mania 27 is weird. It's probably the worst Mania in the past 13 years. Rock hosting was nice but I feel like he shouldn't have gotten involved physically in the Main Event and be the one celebrating in the ring. Cole vs King in my opinion is the WORST MANIA MATCH EVER. Yes there's probably been worse but at least those didn't end via a person who communicates via computer who sent messages to change stuff mainly to support the heels.
Del Rio being pushed to the moon in 2011 was ridiculous. Never understood the hype behind the guy. Made me scratch my head at some folks at the front row at Mania 27 who were mad that Edge won that night
Never understood why they tried to shove bro down our throats as this top heel. Bro was so boring, his move set at the time was like decent at best(i will say it got better over the next couple years) but also wasn't that good of a dude irl so it just confuses me why they loved him so much.
Never understood it either, i mean how does someone get over with a ridiculous yuckmouth smile and a goofy wink, it never made any logical sense for him to just get a world title match just like that
The funny thing about Wrestlemania 25, 26 & 27 is that all of them were very underwhelming shows (27 being Dreadful), but they all had One fantastic match, all involving The Undertaker
And the opponents of Undertaker's three matches were happened to be DX members.
25 and 26 were not underwhelming at all (except for 25s ending)

In a hindsight, you can tell that WM27 was just to build up WM28, considering that two biggest feuds were to be continued one year later, and Rock vs Cena even two years later.
I think WWE knew by then that WM27 was going to be bad, so they already focus on getting ready to build off WM28 and give themselves a head start. Remember Cena and The Rock we're already scheduled to headline back to back Wrestlemania.

Believe it or not, this was my first experience with the wwe, watching wrestlemania XXVII with my dad and younger brother, and even through I had never watched anything pro wrestling, I was captivated by the rock right from the start, it started my love of wwe and pro wrestling as a whole. I stopped watching wwe for a while due to, not knowing how to record episodes of raw/smack down. I eventually figured it out and just in time for the first appearance of the shield. This era of wwe is what got me obsessed with these guys, Reigns, Rollins, and Ambros, they were, and still are, my favorite wrestlers and I cannot thank my dad enough for getting me interested in world of pro wrestling
Apart from The Undertaker Vs Triple H no holds barred match which was the best one of the entire show and CM Punk Vs Randy Orton which was pretty good, WM27 was by and large, pretty much hit and miss for me. It didn't feel like the biggest show of the year, it just felt like another normal ppv.

The one and probably only Mania I got to attend live.. oh well it was fun for me as a highschool kid hindsight is 2020 but being there live made it one I'll never forget
same here!! me and my uncle were there for my 11th birthday. its something ill never forget and even tho looking back on it, yeah it wasnt the best but being there as a kid experiencing pure joy is a memory that i will forever cherrish!

Honestly as a WWE since 2003 I believe 2011 was the last good year to be honest. I haven’t enjoyed WWE that much since the beginning of 3 hour Raw’s and honestly the roster the last 10 years has been boring besides a select few.

WM 27 was the first one I attended in person. I remember more about the time my friends and I spent in Atlanta than I do the matches, aside from HHH vs Taker having cool entrances and the lame Miz vs Cena match with the Rock showing up.

Another rumor going around during the time of WresleMania 27 was that we were going to get Undertaker Vs Sting, a true “When Worlds Collide” moment between WWE’s Biggest Star vs. WCW’s Biggest Star and the fact that the PPV took place in Atlanta (WCW’s home turf) make even more sense.
We were hoping that we would get Undertaker Vs Sting at WrestleMania 31 but ultimately we would end up getting two disappointing matches between Undertaker vs Bray Wyatt and Sting vs Triple H.
It's definitely one of the WrestleMania's of all time

Very bad. I was there as a graduation present. It sucked. The main issue is at the end of the day it was setup for the Mania next year. Great for Miami but sucked for those that paid that night. (The go home to Mania 28 was also in Atlanta too).

2011 may not have been the best year for wwe, commentators feuding, attitude era wrestlers becoming part timers, Edge retiring at a time where we thought he’d never wrestle again until his return in 2020, Summer of Punk, HHH becoming COO, storylines involving social media and anonymous general managers. Looking back it was one weird ass year for wwe.

I was there and one of my favorite memories was undertaker walking out to ain’t no grave by Johnny cash. Such a chilling entrance it’s a shame they dubbed over his regular entrance theme on the network.
Its interesting for me as an older school wrestling fan (early to late 90s) watching these videos about wrestlers and shows that I never watched before.

Personally, I think having an opening match for a major title like the World heavyweight championship is kinda strange. Just doesnt seem right. MITB or like a regular match should be the opener but never a championship.

The thing that makes this wrestlemania lack for me is one the card was kinda mid but also looking back atleast it was really just used as a stepping stone to build up wrestlemania 28 specifically the rock and cena the whole narrative of that show in retrospect was to build the big matches in Miami the following year

I’m pretty sure I fell off with wrestling around 2010-11. I remember Edge announcing his retirement and then I pretty much fell off. I’ve been watching WCW and WWF lately and it’s been so much fun!
Few things I remember was John Cena vs The Miz ending of The match The Triple H vs Undertaker match and The Rock and Stone Cold backstage segment everything else to me was a blur
Even the Rock and Austin’s backstage segment was a blur to me until I watched it back 3 weeks ago. I only remembered Miz-Cena and HHH-Taker off top.
