He got robbed in 1971. Should of won the Cy Young by a wide margin. Also got robbed in 1981. Both because he went up against minority ballplayers. Yes, BB was politically correct back then as well. Should of had 5 total.

秋にニューヨークメッツが初来日した時、後楽園球場でトム・シーバー投手を観ました。
貫禄がありこれぞ大リーガーと思いました。
第１戦で王貞治さんがトム・シーバー投手からホームランを打った試合です。
当時は日本のプロ野球が大リーグに勝てるはずがないと皆思っていました。
狭い球場のライトギリギリのホームランをトム・シーバー投手はライトフライかと思ったそうです。
王貞治さんはある時、日本の球場は大リーグの球場と比べて20年遅れていると言ってました。
50年前はこんな時代でした。
