Demolition Man. Was just watching it on laserdisc... about 2 mins into side b, after Spartan decks the scrap, Lt. Huxley says, "You were better live than on laserdisc." Bought the damn disc JUST for that scene, lol.
I watched In & Out on Oscar night and I was surprised that the movie Funny girl was presented on laserdisc. The majority of Kevin Kline movies from Sophie’s choice to In & Out were released on laserdisc.
007: Licence To Kill has a part when James Bond sneaks in to a home and finds a CD within a picture frame and inserts it into a disc drive that looks like a laserdisc player for a computer.
The new Goosebumps movie (starring Jack Black) has a brief mention. The 2 cops are mentioning this weird blob and one of them says it reminds him of the movie The Blob, and he says he has it on laserdisc. You can see it included in the cinema sins everything wrong with Goosebumps video.
laserdiscs have become a new form of retro movie viewing. I would agree that that laserdiscs should be dead but the best versions of the pre specialized star wars releases can only be found on this medium. laserdisc lives on because of star wars and better audio than Blu ray.
The unaltered Star Wars trilogy was on dvd. However, it didn't get a lot of people excited because it was the same source as the 1993-1995 NTSC laserdiscs, not restored and not 16x9 enhanced. Still, it's nice to be able to watch them in a blu ray player and not have to worry about flipping or switching the disc.
Agree on that Some other original theatrical versions of modern day and all-time classics like Alien, Jurassic Park, Independence Day, Indiana Jones (Raiders of The Lost Ark), etc. will NEVER be released on DVD and Blu-Ray because there is no technology out there to combine today's Ultra HD picture quality and the original negatives of the theatrical version of these movies. Plus the sound is state-of-the-art, with Dolby Digital 5.1 or 6.1 sound (6.1 applies to ULTRA RARE 1999 and 2000 discs ONLY) and THX combined you get the best experience in your home theater or living room. For those of you who are taking on a project to revive Laserdisc including myself check out www.laserdiscdatabase.com the site is reliable and is solely based on Ebay.

You can see a laserdisc player on top of the tv during the Buns Of Steel scene in Clueless. I believe it's a Pioneer CLD-702
loved this so much....totally sharing it with all the other shiny disc lovers
There was an episode of Regular Show that centered around laserdiscs. And it was awesome.
Great video and very informative! Enjoyed the film clips too. I'm sending this to a buddy of mine who used to collect them.

Fascinating little clip.Thank you
I love Laserdisc better than DVDS
