Thanks for the feedback. The original ensemble that I wrote the piece for didn't have double basses, so that was why I didn't write the part. I have since written a version with double basses, though I'm still considering whether to upload it or not.
@@bewegungsunf4higat the very least I would love to hear the second movement with a double bass, I closed my eyes during my listen and it was beautiful, I would rework some things just for phrasing continuity like extending notes so it flows instead if of feeling like the music is beating but it was still really nice. Great stuff
wow I love this! especially the first movement and the beginning of the second! the third one has a really nice folky sound to it. bummer that the musescore playback sucks at fast pieces, it would sound 100 times better if the rhythms and trills were played correctly. I also like the structure with slow-slow-fast. I feel like the pacing overall works really well. good job!
Randomly came across this and it's quite good. I love current tonal compositions where the most emphasis is put on the harmonies. Writing slow movements that create interest by mostly chord progressions and not rhythm is quite hard. In all, I'd say this suite has a german vibe, the chords used sometimes remind me off Brahms. One little thing: I think the solos in the scherzo are a little of rythmically, probably something to do with the program you used.
Fantastic composition, loved the viola solo at the final movement
A "string orchestra" includes basses, write a bass part... it will add so much depth to the sound.

Thanks for listening! A performance might happen, but I'm not sure yet. I'll definitely be posting a video of it if it goes through.

Any chance you're willing to share the score and parts?
