A historian of art and landscape design, she is the curator of the estate of her husband, the American artist Jon Schueler. After receiving her MA from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, she studied at the Courtauld Institute in London, and worked for the Scottish Arts Council in Edinburgh. She has lectured in art history and environmental sensitivity at New York University, and landscape design theory at the New York Botanical Garden. She is the editor of The Sound of Sleat: A Painter’s Life by Jon Schueler; was the director and executive producer of the video “Jon Schueler: A Life in Paint” in 1999; and was the consultant editor for Jon Schueler: To the North (Merrell Publishers, Ltd., London, 2002). Her latest publication is Artists’ Estates: Reputations in Trust (Rutgers University Press, 2005).
