I have the same injector cleaner. Fill the sonic cleaner with Berryman B12 and fully submerge all the injectors(just lay them down flat) when they are really bad and it clears them right up. I did a set for a S14 that the tip were covered in rust and it cleaned them right up. Also did a set that came out of a 1G Eclipse and had sat for 10 years with E85 in them. They wouldn't flow a drop. Ran the cleaner with Berryman for a hour and the first time I hooked it up they shot out a bunch of gunk then flowed perfect.
Thank you for letting us live vicariously through you. I'm an on call police maintenance chief and I have NO time to do any of this stuff anymore like I did when I was a young man. Happy new year and much love to you guys from Maryland!
I'm 56. Just bought a V8 Vega wagon. You MUST CHOOSE TO MAKE TIME. even just 15 minutes a night. Get a running project. It helps motivation if a runner. And tinker. Decompress. Daydream. And share with us your project.
80's Toyota head here. I bring back stuck injectors with a cheap amazon injector tester, while running in a cheap ultrasonic cleaner. It's how the injector shops do it. Sometime it takes a bit but they will start to cycle. Especially ones that have been running e-10, do it a few times and they come around. Those that were stuck never flow the same, but it'll get you going when you have oddball injectors and need them to work. Can let them run 15-30mins and you'll hear them slowly start to cycle. Just barely submerge them while the tester is set to continuously run. I run them in a ziplock with your cleaner of choice, with just water in the cleaner, makes it easy to apply whatever chemical you want without the water in the ultrasonic getting contaminated. Once you go ultrasonic you never go back..
My first car was a POS 76 dart with a rod knocking slant6. I beat the everlovin crap out of that pig for almost a year, and it lasted a lot longer than it had any right to. Finally chucked the rod doing donuts under a bridge overpass one night. Slapped a patch on the block hole and drove it another 2 months on 5 cylinders until the trans went out. Good memories!
"Don't do this at home" should be your title. This is one of the funniest episodes yet. Weasel Wizz, Stone coming in hot, throwing the injectors at the wall 😂😂😂😂.
Time 215 Heating the shop Get some of the aluminum foil faced insulation board from the home center and install it on the inside of the garage door. Usually 2 layers of 3/4" thick fits just fine. Single layer steel doors are about no door at all when it comes to insulation.
Stone that was an awesome entry brother😂 hopefully both vehicles are okay though. Love the show guys keep up the good work or "Were gunna lose the shop"
This got me thru the last hour of work, and almost enough motivation to finish wiring the chassis of Project Black Sunshine (lS swapped 280ZX). I gotta make some videos but no wants to watch me lose my tools and daydream. Keep the videos coming! I hope the YT venture works out for you all.
Stones entrance into barbs Jeep had me a rolling. Reminded me of when I ran into the auto parts store I worked at with my Cutlass during an ice storm. Pulled in went to park and did a 3mph slow motion slide into the side of the store 😂. Y'all had me rolling the whole video. Love the channel keep up the great work and can't wait to see this monster on the road.
You guys are great appreciate all the hard work you put into your builds. You guys make it fun to watch. Happy new year to you guys and looking forward to another year of great Builds
Could have plugged in the injector, put it on clean, and dropped it in the sonic cleaner. I'm not saying that would have fixed it, but it's another option.
Tie the sub frsme together, slice the rear insert the box tubing into it as far as you can shape it to the bottom of the curve up, put a plate on the front to the rear of the Cross member. That supports the transmission. It reall straighten the chassis.
Pro tip: if you have a stuck injector, put it in BOILING cleaning fluid (water-based for safety like simple green) for 2-4 minutes then remove it and try to pulse it. The heat usually liquifies any varnish keeping them stuck closed. After that, put that boiling fluid in the sonic bath and clean it in there then run it thru the flow test before it cools. Hot fluid also cleans faster.
27:30 I felt that😆😆, I say that cause ive been in that state of being tired as hell but the thoughts are just flowing and keeping you awake and etc. till you realize that "Hey dummy its sleepy time...GO TO SLEEP! "
I absolutely love this build! Dude, when you said you were covered in Weasel Wiz then made the Pauly Shore joke I almost spit out my beer! Hahahaha! Your sense of humor is so on point! One of the many reasons I love your channel! Keep up the great work boys!
If the injector is stuck, putting more electric power through it is a good idea. Putting a jump pack on probably won't help as the current is limited by the resistance of the coil. To put more power through, up the voltage. 24v will double the power. But at some point the smoke will come out.
The fuel hose in the tank needs to be J30R10, not regular J30R9 'fuel injection' hose. The AEM box would have had the correct hose in it, I'm just correcting Barb in case anyone is doing the same job.
"Won't effect putting a wrench on it" Comes off the lathe completely round. LMAO Also banging on the headers is funny. I just commented last week on a video from Rich Rebuilds about how they should've just beat the headers and not cut the frame. lol
Maybe go with like a Holly sniper system just a thought would love to see a five or 6 feet transmission in there and maybe adapt the old pistol grip shifter
@StayTunedTA The easiest way to free a stuck injector is to put an airline on the outlet side. It's just a spring that holds the injector shut and if you put a load of pressure against it the fuel varnish cracks away and it opens up.
Tony says, "Any Mopar header installation is an absolute nightmare." Old Coot looks out the window at his 1980 Dodge Mirada and has flashbacks of the horrors that took place getting headers installed...
