*I'm deaf in my right ear which is why I'm not wearing headphones. I know, it's a bummer not to get the panning sounds. It's also been a bummer to only have one ear my whole life for lots of other reasons, like, playing telephone growing up, I was terrible at it. But, I'll be ok, and I'm getting both channels in the earbud, thanks for your concern :)

”Dancing on my Own” and ”Call Your Girlfriend” are about the same night, viewed from different perspectives.
DOMO: She knows the guy is cheating on her but she goes to the club they’re at anyways and see them together.
CYGF: The girl he is cheating with wants him to break up, but do it nicely. Perhaps she’s starting to feel guilty.
Music expert reacts to "unfamiliar genre " . Sad to tell you this ,but if Robyn is unfamiliar to, you you're NOT a music expert.
so sad you didn't like dancing on my own when that song kinda inspired the pop artists that you enjoy today.. i think that what annoyed people was the wrong assumptions that you had about robyn and not the fact that you didn't like the song..
Yep - him thinking she was a copycat of newer girls bothered me. She didn’t invent the crying on the dancefloor synthpop idea, but she certainly perfected it and made it cool.
That’s partly why some people need to do some research before reacting. At least see when the song came out. No pop girl was doing it like Robyn. And her music has aged well.
"Dancing on my own" was Rolling Stone's song of the decade, so maybe it's just you?
*FROTHING AT THE MOUTH!*
Edited: "Call Your Girlfriend" is unfathomably bigger in the U.S. than here in Sweden.
And sad, sentimental lyrics to an EDM beat in minor is just the way we groove.
Dude, don't reference Rolling Stone to argue your position. It makes you seem silly. Nobody takes RS seriously anymore.
This is the biggest nostalgia hit. We're sad, but it's a bop
I do not trust anybody who does not like “Dancing on my Own”
I feel the same, but the reverse 😂😜
Agreed but more I feel sorry for them, they don’t know What they’ve missing out on
@@SuperJersh The song wasn't named the best song of the decade by Rolling stone for nothing, just saying lol
@@jagelskardey they’re wrong
@@SuperJersh haha nope you're wrong :) you're outnumbered dude lol, by critics aswell as the gp!
You need to react to her older stuff, or her collaboration with Röyksopp. They are really huge in Northern Europe. Both are major influences to the EDM genre of today.
Check out Laleh "some die young", it's sad but beautiful.
she did great with Röykshop
This reaction title is cracking me up.
But its so descriptive xD
So Mr. Expert, watch her officiall video MONUMENT, and tell us what she say while she is singing, 'cause I have no clue, I love her style, and some american singers steel some of her songs. Btw she is expert also, she produce herself.
I don’t really get thinking “Never Again” or “Dancing On My Own” are terrible. I mean, it’s cool not to like them. But both songs are filled with so much honest emotion and are very well produced and are catchy but rather laidback song. I don’t know if you expect every pop artist to make “spectacular”, groundbreaking, bigger-than-life music. Or if you just resent modern pop artist and music. Or if you thought Robyn was some copycat instead of someone who’s been making pop-dance music for 20 years. But the reaction seemed less about you not liking the songs and more about being biased towards the music and making assumptions about the artist. That’s really issue. It’s about you not liking something.
Robyn is known to taking pop tropes and imbuing with a bit more earnestness. But, with the exception of a few songs, she’s also known for productions and vocal styles that don’t have a lot of frills. And she’s been in the game since the 90s. I can understand being frustrated by people coming at you. But you did come off like an ill-formed hater.
I didn’t come off as an ill formed hater
@@SuperJersh You kinda did, pretty much suggesting that Robyn was a basic wannabe and aping others. It’s true that a lot of her music is 80s influenced. But in many ways, she brought that type of sound back to the forefront. And many current pop stars site her as an influence or at least are fans. While yes, a lot of pop music is about love. However, that’s been the case since pop music has been a thing.
It’s perfectly fine not to love the music. You want to give honest reactions. But you definitely came off like you had some preconceptions, did no research whatsoever and almost like you had a vendetta.
Don't ever feel like you're forced to tell people what they wanna hear, in the end it's your channel so you should be able to communicate your feelings and tastes however you want without having to compromise
Unfamiliar? This shit was on the radio 24-7 guess music experts live under rocks.
Not my piece of cake but she has a great voice.
Music experts live everywhere. We’re everywhere. As I am one I can confirm that.
Robyn is a great artist and writer ❤ i grew up with her first music. All the girl's even cut their hair like her 😊
She actually had an older song on a Patreon mixtape that I liked, thanks for watching :)
I'm a metal-head and this is one of my favorite music videos. A good song is a good song. You know it when you hear it.
Your assumption that people didn’t respond well to the last video because you “didn’t like the song” is way off. Your reaction was off putting because you were so off base with your thoughts on it, and Robyn in general. MANY of the songs you’ve reacted to on this channel have been directly inspired by or straight up copied that song. I understand the theme of your channel is to react blindly to things but it wouldn’t kill you to do a Google search before you watch something.
Patreon comment repost: Ah yes, I was wondering if you were going to pick up that it could be about that particular perspective. There's a few other songs from this angle too. Some other ROBYN suggestions include SHOW ME LOVE, BE MINE! and she did a couple songs and an EP 'DO IT AGAIN' with the Norwegian electronic band ROYKSOPP.
also to add on subjectivity of reactions and the defensive response of some commenters; It all goes back to your comment about tact & understanding that everything is not everyone’s cup of tea and that’s fair enough; sometimes that's what makes it interesting to see what does/doesn't click with you and not being overprotective of the subjective meaning it has for us individually/personally, the Requester of the first Robyn reaction I think understood that. :)
I love how bittersweet this song is! The end and heartbreak for one relationship is the beginning of a new one. Just how swedes usually like it😄
Robyn is kind of an underrated genius.
Im not a Robyn fan bts, Im a dyed in the whool Scandenavian metalhead.
My sister listened to Robyn back in the 90s and I fakking HATED every minute of it.
But I inevitably became familar with her sound.
I think it was a little bit of two sides that made me realize there was actually something to it.
1) she released her first album at like age 14 or so.
Her early stuff wasnt all that great, but a she matured so did her music.
2) I was a pig headed metal supremacist but with the completely unavoidable constant repetition eventually you start to pick up on the subtle stuff and I was like "I still dont like her but MAYBE she not actually a completely talentless hack"
I moved out into my own appartment and for years never heard anything from Robyn aside from an occasional single at the club every once in a while and by the time she put out "With every heartbeat" and "Keep this fire burning" I was at a point where I was thinking "Hey, this is actually NOT awful, good for you Robyn".
Then Robyn went on a pretty extensive hiatus and for a very long time they really only played three of her song and just like at home all those yeara ago my brain started disecting the songs and there are so many unique and inventive neuances and structures in her songs.
Ive always thought her sound is very much one of a kind, instantly recognicable its just that it was a sound I didnt like.
After this realisation I found myself actually having a fair amout of repect for her, even if I personally didnt like the song I could recognize the craftmanship.
This want something anyone could just do.
Then 2011 came and Robyn release Body Talk, a three part Record collection, I think, and it kind blew my mind.
While still fitting very well into the modern pop scene it still sounded like nothing I had heard before which is borderline oxymoronic.
I dont think i listened to anything else for about three months.
I just couldnt wrap my head around how this worked and came to the conclusion that you have to have some genius level talent to actually make that work.
Pausing in the middle of a music video that lasts, what, four minutes...
Yeah I should just let it play straight and sit silent. And also, why talk about things at all, ever? FYI since you aren’t aware it’s possible to watch the music video on its own without interruption, reaction and review videos traditionally involve additional commentary.
The self-roast in the title
Dancing on my own needs to be next. It brings back so many memories lol Its such a good song by her.
He already reacted to dancing on my own 😊
That was the song he didn't like...
Oop maybe i should start watching things before i comment......Move along nothing to see here everyone
@@jayp9881 Ah it's cool 🤣 Happens to me too 😅
@@jayp9881 lol
You can't call yourself a music expert if you haven't heard of robyn before
And yet I am and I did…… 🤔
@@SuperJersh a so called music expert knows all geners and should know all singers
@@richardwani2803 Richard I know everything about everything, I’m really smart.
@@SuperJersh good for you 👍
Music expert, uh, okay. Big pants boy.
U don’t get jokes. It’s all good tho.
Honesty is a and o in a reaction. I always respect honest reaction
What the hell does this dude actually like…
Jersh + Robyn = MAGIC MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN! Without Robyn, we would not have the 1990s and early 2000s staple pop stars.
he didn't seem to care for people emphasizing her influence on modern pop in the dancing on your own reaction, but it's true, if she seems like a copycat or something it's because people copied her not the other way around lol
all her music is great
If you want to be tempted to pick up a guitar ... react to Billy Strings. He is bananas good on guitar and vocals. I recommend a live show or home video ... seeing him play is part of the fun.
Because it’s in the music is amazing sonically and lyrically.
Haha the title. In glad you liked this one!
why are you a music expert?
The song is about a delusional woman that met a guy for like 2 seconds and is convinced that he is going to leave his GF for her. She is giving him advice on how to leave his current relationship, so she can have him.
Shit. Liked this video at 0:45 I honestly I prefer reactions that are genuine, even if I don't agree with whoever is doing the reaction, it's nice to know why that person doesn't like it etc
Her new album Honey is so good!!
Or her colab with Röyksopp
Girl and The Robot och Monument 😍😍😍😍
I wonder what you would say about Röyksopp & Robyn "Monument"( Music Video ).
Please react to the Christine and the Queens song Tilted. I think you’d enjoy that one.
React to “handle me” by her
Don't know she was still round
Listen to Honey, amazing album
So, I love Dancing on my own. But I guess each to their own. Maybe None of dem, or The Girl and the robot is more your jam.
react to Bjork - Body Memory
Anything from her
YAAAAAS HE’LL DEFINITELY FIND HER MUSIC INTERESTING!!!
U should check out Susanne Sundfør White Foxes 🥰
At first i didn’t like Robyn because of Dancing on my own then I heard call your girlfriend and that was it ❤️
react to Midnight Sky by miley cyrus plss or you can react to her viral cover of "Heart of Glass"
Suggest: do Robin live in Roskilde 2019....."Dancing on my own"...
🇸🇪
SIRRRR, PLEASE REACT TO MOTHER MOTHER
Jersh that's so awful that people can't respect your opinion. I love your reactions because they are so honest, I can comprehend that people have different taste on music, that's why I hate when people say that The Beatles or whatever are the best musicians in history... Like... They wouldn't sell a single copy this day and age. But that's fine. Because everyone has different taste
Can you please react to Metric song called Handshakes
Please
Hello there. Nice reaction. Please react to Robyn - Show Me Love
She is the Swedish Songbird ❤️🐮🇸🇪
I agree with your opinion at the beginning, but you're just wrong for saying she's awful. I don't know why I'm watching. Hopefully you'll love it, if not.. fuckingbye
Pander to me daddy! jk. Stay your truthful and authentic self.
I think they didn't like your peculiar taste in the other video.
i dont think is fair for you to call yourself a music expert if you dont know even a lil bit of the history behind how influential in pop music worldwide Robyn is since decades ago... every super mega star pop hit from the 90s, 2000s and 2010s is, in someway, referencing Robyn sounds.
gurl, pop music is probably 1% of all music...
@@omniainnihil4698 "expert" should know better... If not, they would go arround saying pop is 1% of the music, gürl.
Oh keep your opinion, thats great. Dont pander to people. But please try not calling yourself a music expert because my friend you are not. Nobody is.
It’s ok, u don’t get the joke, thx for watching :)
Could it be that you like this song more because you got paid to like it?
lol that’s quite the baseless accusation
Stopped this straight away. Now i know this song and i like reaction videos but wtf is a “music expert.” Like me saying im a “yo moma” expert because i know her.
A secret is, music is subjective, you cant do a course or fiddle your fingers, well you can but your not qualified in music, your qualified in fiddling.
Like i am with yo moma.
Seriously though im not qualified in “yo moma.” That course was double booked. She was getting people resitting the practical.
Eww why are people still here talking about his other past reaction? get a new hobby people, please.
