I really love your bike. I just got a kz650 and plan on dressing it up very similar to how you did. Is there any tips that you learned along the way that you think I should know before I begin my journey?
Take photos and notes of every single detail when you strip it down and take more photos than you think you need, trust me you'll be glad you did down the track! Try and get her running well before you start chopping and changing. You don't want to be taking it all apart again once everything has a fresh coat of paint. Shoot me a message if you've got any questions mate!
Hello, I’m from Illinois and am in the middle of rebuilding a 1978 kz650 myself. My engine needs extensive work, so while I wait for parts I am sanding down/prepping parts of the body for cleaning and painting. What size/kind of tires are those? Unfortunately I lost all of my photos when my phone broke, so I will be relying on the manual and online photos for when I put it back together. I hope all is well. I understand it you don’t respond. Best regards!
hey kyle, sweet build. i had a question but didn’t know if any other way to reach so i’m leaving this comment and hoping you see it. did you have any issue at all rejeting the carbs once you switched out the air box for the pop filters. i just want to have an idea before i jump into that. thanks for your time man
Nah man I just had to fiddle with the fuel air mix a bit to get it right, they had already been changed when the previous owner fitted the big cone exhaust. It ran a little sluggish on the low end but nothing that phased me greatly, sorry on the late response!
Mint build! I'm doing a similar build on my Kz440
I WANT TO SEE UPDATES! Love the bike by the way.
Well done Kyle, looks ace!!!
