The only channel on RUclips attempting to put a round peg in a square hole! 😂😂 Mike, I think Gunner has been hanging out to much with Arron! His comedy is spot on with Arron! I still think you need to mod the 120 to fit an 80mm connection so it fits both machines, instead of welding two connections onto your Frankenstein cutting tool (aka Edward Scissorhands makeover)! 😁😁

Reuse grinding disks ;-) my dad when visiting the boilermakers shop would pick up the disks from the floor discards from the two handed grinder 8inch disks and use them on his hand grinder and then the metal ring left went in the draw as a WASHER. I may have exaggerated the last bit.
People use to visit our Blacksmiths shop and ask to look in the scrap pile ;-) my dad corrected them an said it was the offcut pile.
Back in the 1980s we would make something in steel and welded then to simplify costing we would weigh it and charge 25 uk pence per pound of steel and add on the time it took.
It was surprising how many customers were that happy they came back the next day and gave him some more cash. Great days I do miss them.

An easy way to square up something like the situation when you’re trying to make sure the long tube is square with the other piece is throw a framing square on both tubes and measure the gap close to the tube then furthest point away from the tube on the square do that on all four sides

We use a mobile grease. I believe its designation is 007 that’s is a bit thinner than mobile 28. It stays in place and has a bit more slingability (if that’s a word, lol), but have found that it needs a vent so it doesn’t push out the seals. May need to do the same thing with your standard grease that you used. Just FYI from 35 years of industrial maintenance

Dp & Aaron this is an awesome build so far looks great perfect use of pieces/part of a drop down axle perfect for rotation aswell as having the brake assembly still connected to keep it from any unneeded spinning.. Cant wait to see this thing all hooked up to either machine & it chopping up basically anything & everything that it comes in contact with.. That movable magnetic drill press is a great piece of equipment to have around the shop makes drilling so much easier & more precise..

14:03 Or you two could of split the square tube in half as C channel minus a 1/2 or 1/4 inch so it sadles the round tube. In order to run a cotinuous weld down the whole sides. Or drill 3/4" plug weld holes down all four sides. 🤔🤔👉👉40:00 Well fellas I'm thinking a chian saw or the blade mounted to the end of an articulating hydraulic arm and a long bike brake cable for throttle would of been a whole lot less complicated plus much lighter to build.

Hey Houston to check for alignment, connect a "EYE-BOLT," (of sufficient size to hold the weight) to the center of the "plug-piece" you welded in @ the one end, and just HANG the unit from your Crane unit, and set up some type of a pointer just laying /sitting on your stool, rotate and measure / or just observe the centricity. How many times did you weld the new "hub" on? The first time without anything on the shaft had me wondering. Then when you did it again with the bearing assembly, but no end plate/seal, I was really puzzled.
"Corn head grease", or 00 grease is perfect for gear boxes. It will flow when warm, but is thick enough it resists leaking past seals.

Cardboard with holes help keep the mind straight. Five gussets to a square. I had a 100' one on my property trimming high libs above my 2-Phase line. It was a monster. Then a land clearing machine munched up all of the limbs and my grass and left largish chips out there to mow over. Grass grew back, garden with boulders didn't. Have pictures.

Nice project ! How about getting a hand held band saw for different cutting projects ? they work good and less sparks and they cut pretty straight.

    1) Maybe you two need one of those plasma/torch/engraver tables like Oliver Snowball bought. Or maybe what Clint has. Even the little guy like Diesel Creek has would be nice. 2) You might find an old buzz saw blade would work better. 3) If it's not heavy enough, maybe Chris would let you have his wrecking ball. 4) the gizmo rotates but how do you make it rotate to where you want it?

Could you have put another drum on the opposite way and bolted it then a plate to the tube?
