XR400...enough said! I have several bikes and it's the one I'll never get rid of. I've even made preparations for an e-start when I get too old to kick it.
Looks like fun, now if only more people did trail riding at a leisurely pace. It seems these days everyone wants to go break-neck speeds through the woods.
Most of the guys I ride with just enjoy a leisurely trail ride. There is another group I ride with that I need to be mentally prepared to ride with because I know we will be moving lol
@@Garage2Trail It's good to know there's still people who want to take their time enjoying the ride. I'm not the best at riding dirt bikes so going at a leisurely pace makes it more enjoyable. Now if I was on an ATV it's a different story since that's what I grew up riding. I'm hoping to get more trail riding in this coming summer. I was too occupied with other things to ride much last summer. :)
Good ride. It looks like you could have out paced them easily. I don't know where those trials bikes fit into the bike world. I need to watch some video on them. They look neat for sure though.
Thanks Chuck! They are extremely capable bikes and fun to mess around on obstacles and vertical inclines. Great for mastering balance and technique that can translate to regular bikes too. My brother rides his like a normal bike.
Yes, the higher the level of technical difficulty the larger the advantage will be. It is a very tight window though, the moment you are above a "1st gear pace" the dirt bike will attain a large advantage. We ride both back to back on the same trails and they are different enough to make it seem like you are riding very different trail sections.
Yeah a trials bike is almost like cheating compared to regular bikes lol. The only downside is there is no seat and your limited by small fuel tanks and how far you can go.
Usually caused by a 'dry' brake cam or brake shoe retainer resonating (with amplification through the brake plate) but can be torque arm related components on older bikes.

Enjoying the trails is always a great happy ride through the woods..!! Best regards to you dear friend. !!
The XR doesnt break a sweat!
A lot of fun.
God, I miss those low idle engines. My modern Hondas seem like they are going to have an aneurysm any second.the low idle puts me at ease.
I wish they still made these bikes! Really all they’d have to do is add an E-start

Reminds me of the trails I road mountain biking. I’ve never owned a trials bike. Do you think it has a slight advantage on a trail like this?

@ thanks for the feedback. So nice to get distracted from the bs of everyday life with this video.

@@Garage2Trail I’m an old man and I need all the help I can get. My rides are of a short distance anyway. Maybe I might invest in a trials bike.
@@ratride1 if you are looking to become more competent at riding or enjoy learning a new skill set you really can't go wrong with a trials bike.
Who’s got the squeaky brakes? You or him?

That’s the bike in front of me
