My first LEGENDARY campaign in FOTS was TOSA. I played passively for 50 turns building up my economy in SHIKOKU, defended it for so long ( 4 provinces). And then when I finally built up, finished the campaign 5 years early when the campaign was supposed to end. Very slow campaign but I enjoyed every it.
I was fighting enemies and causing rebellions in my allies territories that's how I obtained most of my territories in south, while my allies were fighting in North. Constant naval bombardment and enemy troops landing in my province of northern province of Shikoku was pain in my 🍑.

I've not watched a second of this yet so I'm gonna say when I last played this campaign, I noticed there was a good amount of advantage to switching allegiance on turn 1 so that's what I did. Now I'll watch and find out if you even considered it!

Allegiance swapping really doesn't make sense until just before Realm Divide depending on how the two coalitions have performed till then (if the shogunate is doing well for example then you can swap and end the campaign faster if they control the capitals)
But early game just seems like a way to fight more rebel battles for no gain other than farming XP for gens

@@dishonorable_daimyo1498 I may be wrong because this was some years ago, but I vaguely recall there is a lot of Shogunate allegiance in the area. By switching I was able to expand from early territory faster because I didn't have to worry about rebellions due to opposing allegiance.
Another thing I remember is getting 3 vassalisations going for +3 honour so that I could loot with impunity and make use of that bonus to looting. After ambushing on turn 1, I turned the starting enemy to my vassal to buffer against the east, enabling a Kyushu expansion. Ambushing seemed a superior option than fighting a bloody siege.
