Best tip I could give any self taught guitarist is to just copy the movement of the hands, follow alongside the tab. Probably not the best way to learn, but that’s how I learned all the technique from other guitarist
@@teddyunderhill ‘percussion’ means drum beat. As you can see whilst playing, my Right Hand(RH) pluck the string and hitting the guitar with my palm at the same time for the ‘drum’ sound. The ^ under the measure signals when to add the percussion. Tap percussion happens at 0:27 where I use my finger to tap the guitar for another variation of ‘drum’ sound. I hope this helps!
Hmmm for improvement on technique, u need to progressively learn more technique challenging songs, and I really recommend you choose your favourite song to play, not only it’s enjoyable to learn and you’ll have more motivation. For where to start, u really need to start from basic, don’t rush the process, learn basic technique, fingerpicking and strumming pattern, choose the song of your level that contains these basic technique u want and need, and learn the technique alongside the song. I personally started with basic chord changing and fingerpicking pattern. 🎸
