I bought this ball this week and after adjusting around with hand positions and feet position on the approach, this ball just works. I'm impressed. Back in the old days when columbia came out with the yellow dot, it took awhile before everybody realized how good it was, eveyone had to have one. This ball will be the same.
This looks really good. I preordered this ball last week. Glad to see that I made a good decision. I've never had a Columbia 300 ball before. Looks like a good place to start. Thanks for the video.
The Bleeder, Cuda, and Piranha were the only three bowling balls from C300 I ever liked. I am wondering if Track will make a new "Shark" at some point. Those plus the "Danger Zone" were my arsenal as a teen in the 90s.
Nice review Brunsnick! I spent the first 40 years of my life rolling with Track, Ebonite, Hammer, and Columbia balls with moderate success. I decided to rebuild my arsenal using the SPI lines. They tend to match up better with my older body. However, I still enjoy watching your ball reviews
On second thought, I may go with a Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid as the first ball out of the bag on the fresh. Looking for a strong asymmetrical solid/ hybrid.
I watched every single review you've ever done and all your league bowling which I like. I would love to see you stand 20 to 25 and bring just the hammer 3.0 and this piranha. Those two balls match up as well or better than anything I've ever seen you throw. I know you said it's hard to stand left on your league but you can definitely stand between 20 and 25. Stand left throw right and watch you have a great night.
Speed dominant bowlers should love this ball, but I'm not so sure about speed challenged bowlers. They are likely to leave a lot of flat corners. That said, the ball is very impressive, but it would have been nice if you played the ball inside the oil line on more direct lines so we could see how it goes through the pins with less entry angle. Thanks.
This ball is the third overall ball with a solid HK22 coverstock (following the DV8 Brutal Collision and the Hammer Radioactive Vibe), and the first HK22 solid to come in a dull out of box finish.
@@darrenchambers3042 that's interesting because that hasn't been the case for me. I like the Tundra Fire, but haven't been able to match up at all with the Stealth pearl, just as an example.
I'm a relatively speed dominant left handed bowler. My local PSO recommended this ball to me. I've bowled with it twice so far. First time was on a left over sport shot from a college team. I don't know what the pattern was. I thought I did okay, considering it was my first time on a sport shot. Last week was on a typical house shot. I thought it was a great match for me. After I got the pattern broken down a bit with the Piranha. I switched to my Black Widow Ghost. And was able to keep playing the same area.
Nice ball video, I am a stroker, I usually stand on forth dot and roll over between first and second arrows. Will this ball be too hard for me to control the hockey or flip ? Is there a way I could delay the hook later, go longer before hooking ? Does that determine the position of the pin on the bowling ball ? Thank you. I enjoyed all your videos.
I think this one is fairly smooth compared to other balls out there, if you want to delay the hook, just bring the surface up from the box finish. Layouts can help, you’ll want to discuss your options with your pro shop on that one.
I finally decided to drill the Piranha. This ball rolls heavy and smooth. First game out of the box 234 on a 43 ft. House. I found the missing piece . This is going to fill the 3rd spot in my bag. Currently Hitter, Katana Assault, Piranha, Zigzag, Fireball. Looking for a strong symmetrical pearl
It would be cool if had the piranhas from the past , a orange one like a hybrid or a shiny solid , keep the blue one , make the jade . I love vintage bowling balls i just got my hands on a single drilled brutal nightmare, a single drill wine u dot and a turquoise rhino plastic which feels like it has urethane mixed in to it . I have a lot of vintage balls . Especially the aqua marine quantum, quantum leap and the og forest green quantums. It is something about the vintage balls that sets them apart from their remakes.
Picking mine up on this wednesday looking forward to it loving my cuda pearl want to add this as my only sym solid is an old roto grip show off that deserves to retire.
Sir, my bank account can only do so much. I just got the Ethos and Perfect Mindset (thank you, sweeps winnings), but now here comes a ball that gives me strong Jackpot Solid vibes. I did need a new sym solid, though..... But, I'm uncertain how a full HK arsenal would perform.
This ball has my attention. I have a solid Cuda pin down which on a radical layout sheet is called Ultimate control. Wonder what would be a good layout of this to work with Cuda?
Radical only recommends pin down on asymmetrical balls. That layout isn’t on the symmetrical sheets. You’d want to go higher pin with this to make them roll much different and flare different.
@@brunsnick radicalbowling.com/uploads/downloads/Layouts/radical-layouts.pdf This was an older layout sheet I found showing the layout I have. I know Radical says no to pin down no on sym balls. If I get the piranha I am thinking a 5" pin
My dad had the jade piranha c pearl . If the new piranha was compared to the other piranha balls that would be awesome but finding a old one is few and far between
Any of those 3 would be good but I would suggest something weaker than Outer Limits to fit below Piranha. You’re going to need something for drier lanes.

Nice clean game

Very few and far between! 👍🏻
This may be a bit of a hot take, but for me HK22 is better in solid form than pearl.
@@andrewweltlich9065 I struggle with HK 22 in the "weaker" bowling balls. Ball up is fine.

I’ve been looking to get a new solid for a while and I’m gonna bite on this one. HK on a solid looks fun, really dig the color too.

That ball will sell like hot cakes!! Looks great, hits great, roll well.
Hotcakes are pretty spectacular.
Got mine ordered!!!
Started wondering with the throwback bowling balls making a come back if the Sapphire Zone will come back or the Zone line.
Nick quick question difference with this and power torque??
Not a lot of real world difference on the lanes. Piranha maybe a little cleaner and sharper compared to Power Torq with the HK22.
@brunsnick that Ethos though is going to be great pin down option.
Maybe. Wouldn’t advise.
It has a nice roll an continues motion like this shape
YES!!!
This is a piece I HAVE to get. Thanks for the review. I think this ball has a lot of potential.

How many of the balls you test make your league or tournament bag?
Plus due you try them on Sport patterns?
I cycle in new balls for league every week. Rarely do I try them on sport, but the NU Blue was filmed on Wolf today.

Yes.

Not at all. This is much more aggressive.
Would this fit along with the outer limits hybrid or the atlas
Both are pretty smooth, not sure you’ll see enough separation.

Good question. 🤷🏻♂️
First ball I ever bought with my own money 💰 was the Columbia 300 Yellow Dot Legend. 😂
SOLD! 😂
Why is every new ball just using the hk 22 coverstock? New ball? Hk22. Old ball? Hk22. Why is everything the same?
It’s the base resin. Additive packages are different.
Looks like this ball needs oil, correct?
Yes, it’s pretty strong.
