- After drafting the Chromatic Cube a few more times, I feel very strongly that this is definitely the way you should draft the Chromatic Cube. As there is a distinct lack of interactive spells and cheap creatures, you almost always have time to resolve your threats. This truly feels like battle cruiser magic where everybody is rushing to play their biggest creatures as quickly as possible.

Hi! I was Celes in that one match where I was ramping like crazy! I was pretty sad to see the Crackle since I wanted to have more fun with you (you are correct in that my followups were weak 🥲, I think I remember having some nasty cards like Emrakul). Nonetheless, it was a cool match and I'm happy to have played against you! Enjoying your content and learning lots~
After watching Numot play many chromatic cube drafts I can easily say Crackle with Power is one of the best win conditions.

Yea they really need to change it up and pull a few cards (staring with crackle, morally isn’t nearly as bad) seen soooo many games end out of no where against all odds with a top deck crackle/ land/ card draw/ whatever ending with crackle for 10 plus😂😂😂
@@HTXVintageVibes I mean they did good by removing breach and krenko. I dunno if they need to remove crackle, even though it is amazing. Emrakul is too fun to remove lol, I just had someone down to two life and cast emrakul and killed them with there own shock land 🤣

This is a very interesting take on Chromatic Cube. I have not done well in it overall, so I'm going to give your strategy a try. I luv me some ramp* into crazy big plays! (Argh, silly spell checler!)

Nice games! I shouted at my monitor when I saw you almost passed up Crackle w/ Power. That and Dopplegang are my 2 favorite X spells to ramp into. 8 mana is easy in this format if u know what you’re doing. Thanks for dipping into cubes everyone now and then. GG’s!
I was concerned when he passed Crackle with Power the first time around.
And then it came around again and he almost missed it and I just about died. But luckily, he caught it just in time. It was then that I knew it would win every game for him and he would never again disrespect the Crackling.
Best card in the cube and people sleep on it
The number one piece of advice in Magic that I'm still working on myself: reading the card explains the card. But ain't nobody got time for all that

This is the first arena cube where drafting an aggro deck seems like the best archetype. Winota, bruce tarl, and tajic are all busted boros 4 drops which i can consistantly pick up in picks 6-12. I often pair the deck with green as there are 4 llanowar elves effects so you can often get 2-3 if you prioritize them highly enough. When your opponent is trying to hard cast 7 and 8 drops, slaming an unbeatable bomb on turn 3 consistantly can win the game almost every time, esspecially with the lack of efficient removal in the format. Ive forced this and trophies my last 4 runs, take advantage.

I was going to say omenpath is pretty nice in this slower cube. Ramp, fixing, and thinning out your lands, not bad for a do nothing 4 drop. At least when you don’t have to worry about too many aggro decks

Been having the most fun and success with green based 5 colour
I've been drafting this cube to death and for me drafting all the 3 and especially 4 mana ramp artifacts and forcing grixis "combo" control is the clear winning strategy.
Pick the broken 4-6 mana counterspells very high (especially spell swindle and the one that exiles the spell to let you play it)
And then the combos.
Mizzix Mastery+magma opus
Enter the Multiverse+Extra turn spell
Standalones like Etali, emrakul and crackle with power also great ofcourse.
Also decent boardwipes in red and blue with mortars, burn down the house, the bounce all make 8/8 sometimes, cyclonic rift, mizzium mortars and deal 20 to all blow a land up.
Bankbuster and mazemind tome are very strong with hedron archive/ fast artifact mana.
Paul, do you have a Cube of your own or have you ever thought about building one? I’m about to have a child so that might be a reason to start double-sleeving up all the hits and finally building one, myself. Loving the video so far, my dude!
The Brazen Collector has seemed really strong to me in this cube.
Watched this video, immediately logged in, drafted ramp until about pack 1.5, then all the big payoffs. 7-1 in about 25 minutes.

There are a decent amount of good counters in this cube. However, cheap removal seems to be at a premium.
I like lowcurb esper creatures with when a creature with 3 or less enter draw card effects, then just use espers great removal for their big stuff
I think agresive MID range deck do pretty well in This Format, there is a Lot of support , mainly rakdos and dimmir
I like this cube maybe they make a vintage cube with alchemy cards in future
This cube should be drafted in the bottom right corner of the pack until pack 3 lmao

I was so excited for cube to come back but this cube is... pretty stale. No matter what colors you're in, the best plan is just ramp-->play big stuff.
Every game is just a case of who had earlier/better ramp to play x 7+ mana spell on turn 4.
Don't worry, we all know it's Mythweaver Pog, Mythweaver Pogchamp even.

Why the krenko hate? I feel like he is one of those cards that can single-handedly win a game if not dealt with quickly
too slow i think.
@ interesting, it just feels like a very slow cube to where it’s nice/kinda forces one of few removal pieces to be wasted from opponent

It is not true that there is no aggro in this cube. I get paired against borros aggro on the play in around 30% of the games which resulted in flawless losses in 100% of the games.
Alchemy. A is for Alchemy. As history has shown, alchemy is not magic. I wish i could draft cube on Arena, but i'm not spending currency on a format that let's people with cards that are actually Magic cards. Come see me though in Historic/Historic Brawl/Timeless though, you'll get a free win the second you put that trash on the stack.
Cube was cool for like a draft or two and it’s really not that good every deck is the same thing

This cube kind of sucks. If your on the draw and opponent leads on ramp it just kind of feels like you lose. They need to add more cheap interaction
