- This video shows you exactly how to install the Good-Win-Racing race muffler on your ND Miata! All you need is a socket set, dish soap (optional, but makes exhaust hangers easier to work with) and about 30 minutes of free time!
This exhaust made a huge improvement in the sound quality and loudness. Installation was simple, and the fitment, quality, and price of this muffler are excellent! It doesn't drone or get too loud on the highway. In fact, it sort of fades in the background while listening to music or just cruising but sounds like this car should have from the factory when you get on the gas!

Since the exhaust takes up less space underneath, is the underside aerodynamically affected? Does it create any stability issues at higher speeds? I watched a video of someone installing a Verus rear diffuser and claims it helps with the above issues due to smaller exhausts
Have not noticed, but I did just pick up that same diffuser, I’ll let you know the difference after I install it!

I just put this muffler on, absolutely love the sound of it but just want it to be a bit louder, thinking about buying GWR midpipe to try and increase volume.

@DriveMX5 I'll most likely be ordering it in a couple weeks, going to start with a mid pipe and see where that gets me, if that's not enough I'll just get a header too😂

No drone at all, it's perfectly mild when cruising and loud but not too loud when flooring it
How are u.. I'm about to install this exact exhaust on my mx5 but I wonder if this requires any tune or if it's just remove the stock one and replace with the new one 🤔
Just replace the stock one, no tune required

Just set up an order for a 2022 that I want for longer road trips and local spirited driving. how accurate is the 50% increase in sound that they mention in the description of that muffler? Not really intending to mod it right out of the box, but some preliminary searching never hurt right?
I would say very accurate. It’s noticeably louder and has a much better tone IMO. But it’s definitely not too loud as a daily driver and is very mild while cruising on the highway
@@DriveMX5 Thanks! That's good to know, now I just have the hardest part of waiting for the car. I remember hearing another goodwin muffler once upon a time and thinking they have a, for lack of better term, "true" roadster sound. I'm seriously looking at this once I'm more used to my MX-5.

@@DriveMX5 Ha, I wish. Dealer says 6 months. There are some disadvantages to living in Wisconsin I guess. If it wasn't for the snow I'd have had an NA for at least 10 years now.

I should have put it on the dyno before doing the exhaust. After it put down 169whp on a Mustang dyno. I'm sure it made a slight increase in power. The engine does feel peppier! Could also be because it's screaming at me louder lol. Either way I'm super happy with it!
Did this lessen the heat in the trunk?

Did you use the same gasket or get a new one?
I just reused the old one. Haven’t noticed any leaks, thankfully

Any noticable drone in the time since you put it on? I know you said there wasn't any in a previous comment, but thought I'd ask again to see how its been in all that time. Also, did you delete the sound tube with this exhaust? How's that been?
None at all! Still sounds amazing even 2 years later and I have had no issues with it. I did not delete the sound tube, but am debating on doing that in the future. Some say it doesn't make a difference, others say it cleans up the noise in the cabin and allows you to hear the exhaust better
@@DriveMX5 I deleted the sound tube pretty early on with mine.. and it definitely made a big difference at least with the stock exhaust. Not sure if it would be as noticeable with the louder exhaust. But I guess the sound isn't bothering you anyway
