I first saw this video probably 6 or 7 years ago. I started seriously studying jazz in 2019 and now I'm in my 3rd year at uni as a jazz piano studies major. This sparked something really special for me. Thanks Jonny!
Fascinating left hand. Keeps nicely in the background instead of overpowering the right one (which always happens to me). - This version of 'Autumn' is a model of good taste and originality.
Since the video began I already liked, saved to watch later, and subscribed to your channel... And then watched the whole thing twice. I'm about to learn how to play this now!
Awesome...Best version I've heard of that..Makes it sound like you've got a guy on the bass fiddle strumming along..How many of us wouldn't give our eye teeth to whip this one out at a dinner party, along with that Norah Jones number...(Better than the original)..The only reason this had one dislike has got to be because the person is tone deaf or has never seen you so subdued...Talent like yours is truly miraculous. I don't know how you can teach what you do. That's just a gift.

Hello Jonny. This is oNe of the best solo piano arrangements of "autumn leaves" that I've heard! Would you please make this song /arrangement into a "piano with Jonny" video?? I browse your site to look for new lessons. This is the Jazz arranging style that I want to learn! Thanks in advance
Tremendous playing! Btw, did anyone else notice the keyboard moving slightly to the right at 0.24, while the rest of the piano remained static. How did he manage that? Something to do with touching his nose just prior to this? Shifty business!
+Gourockian1 On an acoustic grand piano this means you are using the SOFT PEDAL.On an acoustic upright the use of the soft pedal does not move the keyboard, there is another mecanism.
+FRANCK ZERATHE. Franck, you are absolutely correct - thanks for educating me. My initial post was meant to be rather 'tongue=in-cheek' as I thought what I was seeing was perhaps some kind of video trick or optical illusion. After watching again, I noticed Johnny's left leg moving to the soft pedal and also the keyboard returning to 'normal' at 0:29. I've had the opportunity to play on a few grands but never used the soft pedal. Thanks again and best regards. Alistair
Parece todo improvisado jajaj estaría como para ir a alguna casa de alguien q tenga piano y decir -mirá, no se tocar pero vemos q sale... Muy bueno jajaj
You played the head decently but as far as your solo...youre a perfect example of someone who knows what notes basically belong but who has NO idea of traditional jazz phrasing or how to play through changes. stop posing and work on that IMO

I've got a lot going on right now but I will see if I can do it in the weeks to come. Thank you :) best wishes!
Bought the score, definitely the best arrangement of this classic on youtube

As good as this is, I would love to see a ragtime rendition of some slow, jazzy tune such as this one.
Great
If your curious, the very first version of this song is French, by Yves Montant. And quite different too. This is lovely tho :)
Wow. Do you sell a sheet music for this one ? That would be great !

fantastic , do you do public concerts ?
He really said Autumn leaves but make it happy
How is it possible to play walking with left hand and think about the improvisation with right hand at the same time???
Bartłomiej Marszałek it is possible
It's not possible. It's video fx.
It's called "practice"...
If you watch some of Jonny's lessons, he'll show you some ideas to help you improve.
