...Why do these people want advice but hold the important information back? No one can help you if you dont tell them whats wrong...
I think it's just really hard, especially on national radio. I've started conversations with people before with the intent to tell them a thing. And then dance around that thing until much later in the convo - or don't say it altogether. You're right but it must be really hard to do
@@aaronsacks470 yeah I get that but they purposely took the time to get on the air if they want good help they need to give good info, if they are embarrassed by the situation why even cal in the first place knowing its on air, no ones perfect though just commented as an observation...
That's how a lot of attorneys feel.
I worked in an ER for over a decade. I can relate. I wish people would just tell us the truth. I don't care if you overdosed on something! I am here to help you, but you have to tell me the truth so I can treat you as fast as possible and get you feeling better. It's ok to be overdosed on drugs or alcohol in an emergency...I WANT you to get long term help; but right now, I just want you to live and recover from the emergency. I know awesome drug, alcohol, and addiction counselors, but they can't even get into the equation until AFTER you've been honest and gotten better from the acute emergency.
I agree Jeff! Side note, your videos are awesome I remember randomly finding you in like 2012 trying to learn zippo tricks
Addiction is a wicked disease, I’m hoping they can get through this and become better people on the other side of it.
Just casually ‘oh yeah I’m a gamblin addict and alcoholic’ 💀💀
she's nuts
And by the way I’m actually a porcupine and I might be Satan.
One of the most annoying calls I’ve ever heard. Those guys were too patient with her. I probably would’ve hung up on her when she got to the alcoholic statement.
Not everyone who has these mental health disorders needs to be written off
They're good at digging down to the root problem, not just giving a surface level answer
Right because the husband being a stay at home dad explains why she's not only an alcoholic, but a gambling addict. So I guess all those dad's out there that live in bars after work instead of going home to their families every night are justified.
@@therationalistparty9742 No, she should be ridiculed and judged just like men. This is 2021, equal rights, equal lefts.
@@IceColdProfessional I was being sarcastic. That's what I was suggesting.
@@therationalistparty9742 Oh. I'm sorry. Yes.
I can relate; recovered gambling addict and alcoholic. Always trying to solve the problem of the day fingers pointed out never realizing what the real problem is. Until you solve the addiction the house the job the wife/relationships, money will never click into place. AA/12 steps saved my life and gave me a better one! And I avoided that solution for years because “I didn’t have time”
Good for you! I had to leave an amazing man because he’s not ready for help yet. Heartbreaking 💔
I’m thinking about joining AA but just nervous about it.
Oh, I forgot to mention my alcohol and gambling addiction but other than that it’s all good
I’m nervous for her. A lot going on here. Why did she wait to tell them about her bank account being over drawn, drinking and gambling. I feel bad for her.
Daves response: "sell the car"
Buy mutual funds
Rice and beans
What’s your household income?
I'm an Alcoholic and Have a Gambling Addiction
Dave Sell the husband.
She caught them with the “you wouldn’t tell a stay at home mom to get another job”. Damn right 8/10 times they don’t, they say “she needs a part time job while at home” or “you need 3-4 jobs to support your wife”. But as soon as it’s a woman making the money it’s “your husband needs a job” BEFORE telling her to get a 2nd.
Good on her for calling them out! But damn hope she does get some help, hopefully she’s made it out since this call!
It's great for the mom to stay home IF it's financially feasible. But they have definitely told moms to get a job before.
"I'm totally fine with admitting to those things…" only took you six minutes of rambling to admit those things.
Exactly.
I thought the video was mislabeled!
This woman just casually throws out there @ the end of the call, "Oh yeah I'm an alcoholic and I have a gambling addiction". Why do women get off the hook for this kind of stuff?
They're victims who shouldn't be accountable for their situation or decisions as usual
Exactly how do women get off the hook?
Gambling will keep her in debt forever. The solution is to get therapy for gambling. Then she need to work on being sober. The job is not the issue it's her gambling.
How did she not lead with I'm an alcoholic and gambler?!? I'm impressed how they managed to uncover that. Based on the first few minutes, thought the title was wrong.
Dr. John, that's what Psychologists do, they dig all the information until they get to the root of the issue. Then they work with you on healing the issue that's impacting your life.
I couldn’t skip enough. No wonder she’s in sales
Sales people are trained to talk circles around the negative sides of a deal.
She not a good salesperson 👩💼
Addictive behavior tends to not be limited to just one addiction.
People with this tendency need to be careful to avoid triggers at all times.
Me after I drink 12 beers and lose $13 on fanduel
That's a first, opening another bank account when one is overdrawn. This lady danced around the real issue the whole call till right at the end. Doesn't matter if she gets the new job as long as she keeps on gambling.
And drinking.
My only issue with these guys saying "He needs to get a job! He can't be a stay home dad right now." is that they don't know what the child care costs will be versus the dads potential income. Without that info, there's a real chance that the dad ends up working just to pay child care and not even bringing anything home to the table.
I’d be stunned if childcare outweighed another job. Sounds like cope to me
@@anotherseoulnative8781 In expensive areas, like NYC, they are pretty expansive AF.
I love how the man is always the problem.
Caller "I'm an alcoholic and a gambling addict".
John and Ken "Well your husband needs to get a job".
To be fair, this is good advice FOR THE HUSBAND, he needs to have an income for when this marriage explodes due to her addictions
And when the lady disagreed with Delony about the stay at home husband working he responds with "I hear an addict that is great at going to war" lol
I thought I've seen a video where Dave did say for the women to get a job as well if there is no child that needs taken care of anymore. My question is he a stay at home dad to for the kids? Thats just an assumption because they didn't ask and she tell them why. Maybe she did but I didn't hear it from the vid. If he did stay home for the kids its justified because of childcare cost is expensive. Dave when he defends the stay at home mom its because of childcare cost. Anyway let's not forget Dave is traditionalist.
@@lillynumber2 Dave is not in this video and I've heard him defend the man when the woman is a mess. The point is that the man is not the problem here. He is not the one blowing money on addictions as far as she has stated. She is. Besides. This is not an income issue. Even if there are no kids involved and they were both working, she would still be blowing thier income on her addictions. Don't you see the insane sexism in this? Even though her addiction is the problem, the husband staying home became the focus.
She's as messed up as creepy, sleepy, Uncle Joe.
7:00 that's a great sentiment.
Some people will work things out and try to have productive conversation. Some want to go to war and they're well trained. Don't fight them
"I'm an alcoholic and have a gambling addiction"
"Aaaand what's your household income?"
Sell the car
She is 100% correct. Dave has said multiple times, whether people were in debt or not, that stay at home moms are wonderful. Sometimes, these hosts are hypocrites
He only says that if they can afford to stay home or are working toward staying home. He doesnt say it if the family needs another income to make ends meet
@@relaxbydiamondyes he does lol he says the guy needs to get tow jobs and girl stays home
Gotta love how Dr Delony saw tbrough her situation.. Really world class handling.. I am wondering why the man in question is content to be a stay at home dad when he should be making money to keep the family from drowning in debt.. It is heartbreaking how she wants to defend the indefensible..
Just my guess, but I don't think he knows the extent of the gambling problem
@@saulgoodman2018 They had to force that out of her, so I hope I am wrong, but maybe that is just the tip of the iceberg. My wife is a physician and tells me that very few of her patients admit to all their issues at once. Do you really think she is seeking help over 1.5K?
@@HamiltonRb I too doubt he knows the extent of the problem
Talk about a failed attempt to call them out lol. Dave doesn't mind stay at home moms if the finances are in order. Definitely doesn't sound like the case here.
Attempting to treat symptoms instead of the problem. She sounded slightly manic as well.
He has to have a golden man part 🤣🤣🤣 respectfully
This caller is 💯 correct about how these ppl feel about stay at home moms vs dads.
I’m really praying for them. This is a rough situation
This lady needs addiction help before working on the financial problems. She is right that Dave would not have encouraged a stay at home mom to go to work had the situation been reversed.
Big facts
Facts they were capping on that one, when men have called in similar situations they told them to man up basically. They don’t even know how old the children are and if it makes sense childcare wise which they always do for women 😒
I hope she can get her addiction under control because she sounds like she is really good at her job if companies are reaching out to her
She should bet on going sober.
Sales people and addicts have alot in common. They are manipulative.
I am not manipulative, I believe in my product and it sells itself.
@@Positiveenergy68 why does your employer need a sales person if the product sells it self.

Kudo to you both that you seriously dig into the root of her problem. She is in denial.
She is a mess!
Get sober first. Mental health, physical health, financial health, and all the other worries will go away. Best decision you can make at this point.
“You sound like an addict who’s good at fighting wars”
I think there was a German guy like that back in the 40s..
John answered the question as if we are living in a Hallmark movie... He doesn't owe his family an explanation, maybe the brother in law, but everyone else will shame him and judge him for quitting 🤣
She sounds like she had a few drinks before she called the show 😂
I wonder if her being a great saleswoman has anything to do with the fact she’s an addict…
I have a bit of a cellphone addiction but unfortunately that's a little less taboo, but can be just as damaging to one's life and/or finances
Smash your cellphone and get a land line instead. Get wifi for your home computer when you need to access the internet. You will be surprised at home much time you save now that you are not surfing on your phone. This is what I will do the second that I retire.
Got here before Casey Burns!
He is probably in one of the other 50 sites he leaves comments on every day
I’m surprised that she can get through the financial background check. She seems like a risk if she is opening up checking accounts to avoid paying overdrafts.
John is really good at reading people. I didn’t pick up on the underlying problem
What you put before your sobriety will be taken from you via your addictions. Remember. Get substance abuse treatment as this is a spiritual issue. Once you sort out your addictions, the rest will sort its self out.
Woahh took a while to get to the real issue but lots of unpack
She is a mess so their solution is the husband needs to get a job or three 😂, obviously because she needs more money to gamble and drink with.
Hubby might need to cut ties with this anchor.
Yes finally someone called dave and them out.
I can't believe he said Dave has told stay at home mom to get a job, I may be wrong but I will need proof 😂
It's easier/"fun" to be self-destructive than being better versions of ourselves(for most). Who wants to see something beautiful being built vs monster trucks or destruction derbys or wine tasting🤷♀️🙄🤦
Ticking time bomb
6:55 love how she called these guys out
Why on earth would you go on air for the whole world to hear all of this? If her new employer hears all this stuff they probably aren't going to want to take the risk with her anymore. People so freely put out their personal information without any regard to the consequences. A lot of people watch the Ramsey show why not just go talk to a priest or financial counselor in private
She is a sales person for sure
She really tried to call them sexist! DANG...
get treatment.
Being a stay at home parent is putting generational investment into the family and the society at large as well Never shame a family who has capacity to nurture their children with a stay at home parent to the benefit of our society ❤
Random dig at the stay at home dad, why?
You’re an alcoholic gambling addict, the real problem is your husband needs to be picking up more shifts.
Yes. If you aren't working yourself into oblivion, then you aren't doing it right. Seems to be the message I hear on this channel.
I like how she threw it right back at them by saying you wouldn’t tell a stay at home to go back to work
@@hebrews11vs5 Dave is a workaholic; it's reflected in his company's products and this channel.

Just stay away from blackhawk. I wonder how much business she gave them.
Alcoholics Anonymous is free
i don't think these hosts sometimes realize how hypocritical they are on the stay at home dad vs stay at home mom scenarios. This call is a very good example i think:
Someone commented on this video that "Dave only advises stay at home moms when their "finances are in order" in agreement with the hosts saying the husband need to get a job. She is making 80k with her current job, with that income their finances are in order so the husband can be a stay at home dad.
Her problem is with budgeting and addictions and then the hosts decide one of the solutions is for the husband to get a job. For what! So they can have more money post addiction expenses. They are treating symptoms instead of the problem. The simple fact that they thought the husband getting a job is something that is necessary in this situation highlights their hypocrisy on stay at home dads vs stay at home moms.
They don't seem to realize it themselves but they clearly have a different tolerance level for stay at home dads vs a stay at home moms.
Probably the most relatable video from this channel
What a mess
I can relate to this
Dave has told women to get a job. 🙄
Yes with no kids I've heard it
Im missing Dave and the button on this one. And shes only repeating what he said about the "stay at home dad". I dunno something fishy about a man who wants to stay home (DONT COME FOR ME!) 🤣
Sorry, she’s insane. Some people are just crazy.
I bet she won't give up on drinking
Soon, you will have money for neither, so it will "work itself out naturally"
She has problems period.
And addict that's great at going to war. Wow. That's profound
4:30 in and this is going nowhere, what a boring clip
She's a mess! She's lucky she has any job. Focus on the elephant in the room.
5:57. Was that so hard to spit out?
John is my favorite Ramsey personality! Ken however.... for some reason I dont find him genuine.
"You wouldn't say that to a stay-at-home-mom."
Um ... how long have you been listening to this show, woman?!
You’re not safe…. Yes she’s being held hostage by her husband and kids.
A know it all with no answers. Wake up!
Wow. Hard to listen to.
Edit: I made that comment before she offered the little tid-bit that she's an alcoholic and gambler.
Wow.
