Hey - first off a huge thank you to everyone who’s subscribed and engaged with this channel! 💜 Some of you have pointed out that this seems to be my “last video” and while it’s the end of my A to Z superset, I definitely plan to continue making more content soon :) -CQ
I can't believe how much I like your channel. So mundane yet so deep. Not overstimulating at all. And why do I think you'd be a siren in another life? I like it. Keep going
Extreme resonance on the specialness of late nights. They used to be this confluence of joy and wonder and now as I'm in my 30's they are quiet and desolate. My dreams no longer feel like a glorious escape to a better life but trappings that narrowed my vision. The digital camera is a nice touch. It adds a mood of reliving a distant memory, a texture of nostalgia. Your vlogs evoke such an odd feeling in me. Somber yet enchanting. Like the magic of life is gone but not being mourned and the process of learning to deal with it has this unique experiential beauty to it.
I literally just found your channel & binged your videos! I found you are very relatable as millennial also just in her 30's & also not having her life "figured out" (as society says) - but slowly finding joy in self & life around us. Well done on completing all the letters of the alphabet I do hope you continue to make videos, thank you
Your perspective is so interesting. I’m 33 married with kids, and I’m a stay at home dad. I feel like my life didn’t unfold in the way I planned. I feel like I should be successfully working in a career, but I don’t want to fight with reality.
Hey. You probably already figured this out... but a great way to look at the camera and not the screen is to get a couple thin strips of colored tape and make a square around the camera lens. Then you just have to look at the square rather than trying to search for it. Finding the camera boundaries is easy... just run your fingertip over the camera and if all you see on screen is your fingertip - you've found it! I'm 61yo man, and I moved back to my Mom's house 10 years ago and it's been great! She's 86 and I can't help but think I'm helping her from going nuts living alone. A few months ago my disabled brother had a tiny house built in the lot, and now he lives with us, too! We gotta remember that this is the way most people used to live and it's nothing to be ashamed of (like we should care what others think of us). I'm blessed to be so old and so done with all of the bullshit you have to put up with as a young adult. It's not your imagination; you are living in a shit world (well actually the world is fantastic, but there are lots of people making it very very difficult to get by). This world right now is in a truly evil, dark place. You guys are just gonna have to be the heroes to save all our useless asses. Some are born to greatness, some have greatness thrust upon them. Your blogs are very good! Cheers from California!
Like the best stories-in ART style fakes it till ONLY at the END content emerges -a frame forms around the rationalizationed. I think your style ( all of it together-your voice, your edits, your everyday Chicago food and packaging etc) is cool-linking in an almost slyly mystical bigger meaning. Thanks for the inspirations
Hi I'm 27 and live with my mom I did live with my uncle got a full time job as someone with a disability cereberal palsy it was incredible for me but then my dad died lost my jobs unemployed I've been feeling like I failed I lost my dad when I was 24 and my world shatterd and froze 3 years of deppression has hit me hard but I'm ok and you well be to life is not a race it's a journey I've also forgiven myself along the way I think that's important most important honestly shit gets fucked up sometimes and can flip you're world so it all taught me to enjoy the simple moments thank you for being real
I have no idea how i found your channel, but you've reminded me of so many things of the observations of seemingly mundane things. From CA, I wish the best for you creatively, thanks for inspring me. Artists are introverts largely, so its uncommon to see another creative person's life, thanks for sharing ❤.
As one of my friends once told me, "What you think is normal, is always weird to the next" (i feel im the only one saying this i think but the camera quality in your videos is very homely, i'd keep it personally) Hopefully you make more videos in the future!!
I wish there were more people like you who lived in the country I live in. I think we would be good friends. It's very hard to find people that just want to either just hang out in some sort of natural setting or have deep conversations about life.
Age 38 here, artschool dropout and general maladroit. I've sold exactly one drawing. I just decided that I was giving up people's expectations of me. My art is mine, not theirs.
This episode is brought to you by the letter Z hahaha. Good on ya, much love from South Africa. Also: When I'm watching, the look tricks my mind into thinking it's in the 80s, then you talk about not googling stuff or an iPhone shows up in the shot and brain spazzes out!
Thanks for a great smart concise funny super enjoyable series. Although I live in Berlin now, I lived the first 40 years of my life there. When I first moved out 14 years ago I always told people that I felt more like a Chicagoan than I felt like an American, not really knowing what that even meant. Thanks for beautifully reminding me what that means. A-Z, nicely done 👍🙂
All of this just seems like a roost. She has some cuteness and she would love some validation. JMO. IT'S Kind of pathic. But hey, a lot of us have had these moments.😊
Your channel has fully inspired me to try and start my own soon! I like how you document regular life and you don’t try to sensationalize stuff. U just let it be what it is, if that makes sense.
Keep it coming and we need some of your music. We're all in this thing called life together. Just be kind when you don't have to. Encourage someone to follow their own path.
Zoom in on the little things the mundane. It is where we spend most of our time. So, try and find the beauty in it. The discarded jigsaw pieces on the footpath - the supermarkets that shut down. The picking of cans. - the little things in life.
C.Q. if you think of doing a patreon or whatever works to support your work I'll be there. It would be exciting to see what you can do. You are in my top 3 here on RUclips. Just find your flow and let us know!
Not sure if you're reading these comments but if youre worried that "theres a lot more nuance to life than were told" is a problem.. The best solution is to simply become a book nerd. No joke theres books on every single social and philosophical issue anyone can think of. And then some. Thats why it's not talked about. Nobody has anything better to say about it when theres books dedicated to it if youre willing to make sense of it. Just gotta read em all (the challenge). Consider turning your vlog into a book review/book vlog. Theres plenty of booktubers that are quite knowledgeable too. I was going to say that capitalism divides people in the name of profit but thats not a solution. Reading good books is. Theres reasons for many social narratives. All explained by authors of said books.
It's a shame this is your last video as I've only just now discovered you. When it comes to ' Figuring out life ' or feeling you may not have achieved things others have, as mentioned in one of your videos, something I fully understand. I wish to first say, you definitely don't look like someone in your 30's, you look younger. I also don't feel you'll have a problem finding a partner when you're ready as you're attractive and there's something I find deeply interesting about your personality. While I think you're being very open and honest in your videos, I feel there is a great deal more to you I'm a little older than yourself and can say, also as an artist, I have thought many times that I haven't gotten things figured out as I should have. When I think about it, though, is that maybe a symptom of society in some way, making us feel that to be a success, we have to have some amazing job, paying good money, owning our own home and having a family? If you have a roof over your head, even if you rent, have a job so that you can have a roof over you and food on the table, then you're doing pretty good. I feel life is more about experience than it us about having a ton of money, expensive materialistic things etc. There were things I wanted to achieve in life but haven't, partially because of my depression and anxiety, fears and even seeing how the world had become. It's more of a rat race than living a life, one that makes you a machine, takes away your humanity because you're expected to live a certain way or act some way because of the job you're in. A job that takes up much of your day while the rest if it is eating, sleeping, and then doing much the same the next day. It's making someone else large amounts of money while you're the one just making enough to live on. Money isn't the thing to strive for. I wanted to do great things with my art, have been doing it since I was around 5 years old. I wanted to find someone special, settle down and maybe be a father one day but things in life and even I myself got in the way of that. I feel now though, I maybe Aren't meant for those things, so have pretty much given up on trying. Maybe how it's supposed to be for me, I don't know. Take each day at a time, do with it what you feel is right for you in that moment, try things and if you don't like them, it's ok, try something else. You're not stuck in your life, you have the freedom to choose to change it at any moment. I wish you well on your journey. Have a wonderful day, take care!
So… you’re suggesting that the energy of the desperate, pained and possibly abused sweatshop laborers who make new clothing wont be infused in the fibers of a new purchase? They’re people you don’t know too, and they actually suffer.
It’s been an honor getting to know you thru these vlogs, c.q. 🫡 I didn’t expect my favorite alphabet superset project would be a vlog, but I’m here for it! Hope you’re enjoying the nice 75 degree Chicago day before the inevitable crappy weather (ripfoxtrot)(I have an affinity for pretty cans now) (thanks)
