What's the differences of mxgp vs american motocross? It looks like most mxgp tracks are alot gnarlier
They look about the same to me on the average. The FIM pretty much took over track design in the USA, even the privately owned national tracks a while back. This track, and most others are more like fast vet or beginner tracks that would not qualify for a national in the USA 30 years ago.
Herlings said himself. MXGP tracks are narrower with less line choices than American tracks. Cairoli also said, it is unlikely to ever go from the back of the pack to the front because of the level of riders.

What do you guys prefer motogp or the ama
I prefer AMA because: the camera-work is much better, the announcers are much better: AMA has Grant Langston- a real racer. MotoGP has a lousy announcer who wasn’t a pro racer and alls he does is read a list of the positions all-the-time! I would never pay to watch that kind of lousy broadcasting.

How come they take inside lines they always look heaps slower - Would it not be better to just rail an outside burn and carry speed? Genuine question I don’t know much about motorcross
Tracks are wider than they look on camera, you have to cover more distance on the outside.
Like Justin said, you have to go much further. The other added benefit is the inside line tends to get the choice coming out of the corner so you can block the outside line and all that work railing it is wasted.
