Actually Belinda wasn’t on coke at this point - according to her memoir, she wasn’t passionate about this record because she wanted to work with Rick Nowels and her label head wouldn’t let him produce, so she was forced to work with other producers and songwriters. The album had also already tanked in Europe and she wasn’t happy coming back to the U.S. - she openly admits that she was miserable during this era and wasn’t upbeat/positive. I could see how that could read as being bitchy, but I don’t think she was malicious to anyone.
