Yes it’s very far. I am at least Afrikaans so it helped me a lot. I can understand Dutch completely now and have been taking one on one classes for the pass 8 months so I can also speak like 80% hehe.

We have been watching Jovie's Home to find out more about the Netherlands but unfortunately she comes fro the USA and therefore her experiences are slightly different. Jovie is a stay at home mom with a legal background and does very informative weekly videos on aspects of the Netherlands. I came across your channel by accident and it is a better fit as we are from South Africa and planning to move to the Netherlands. We are doing our first 'recce' on the 27 December and looking forward to that experience. I have a European passport so moving there is no problem, but since I have lived with my family in SA for most of my life going to another country is always challenging. We have spoken to many Dutch people who live in SA but they all say we are mad to want to immigrate to the NL. Their reasons being that the NL is very congested, very expensive, weather is crappy, people are rude and the migrants are taking over. However, they all mostly earn in Euros here and still have their assets based in the NL. We on the other hand don't mind weather and people provided every one obeys the law and contributes equally to the economy, unlike here in SA. Above all we are very interested in their educational system for our boys, having European passports makes educational costs a fraction of what we pay here in SA. So I think I would rather trust a 'Suid Afrikaner' rather than a Nederlander's opinion. Hey, I am not going to say it maybe in the future. But not now. When you work at any of the big 4 accounting firms then you will be able to move abroad within the company. Depending on their demand.
Did I hear you say you need to be under 30? To qualify for 30% ruling. Did I hear right? 😂 You don't have to be under 30. Halo, so this is just based on what I think. CIMA is very focussed on the business side of things. It focusses a lot on product pricing, processes, profit maximization, analytics of businesses etc. Where CA is much more proper accounting and tax and therefore more technical and standard driven where CIMA is a lot of understanding and mathematical.

Hi Eric, if I remember correctly you can use your company address for a max period of 3 months. You get a special letter from your work. So I used that to register to get my BSN number and a bank account and then when I found my apartment I changed my address.

I really enjoy the Dutch people. They are very friendly and very helpful. You do however get the rude once but it’s the same everywhere. They take their work seriously as well as rules so they will be very firm with that. Groceries are not that expensive and very affordable!

Ek dink SAICA het spesifieke plekke waar jy jou articles kan doen want hulle moet jou nogsteeds help om aan SAICA se standaarde en competencies te voldoen en ook ok jou 2de board exam te skryf. Ek weet jy kan jou articles in die UK doen maar nie seker oor Nederland nie. Ek dink dis iets wat jy by SAICA gaan moet ytvind.

I would however say it would just be a little bit more difficult as the demand might not be that high as it is for CA’s but it does not mean that you won’t find a suitable job. It was illegal of your landlord to ask for a few months in advance. You should be able to get that back somehow. The abuse the situation that you are not from the Netherlands and will be unfamilliar with laws here.
It was not illegal. That is how it works when you go into a rental agreement. You pay one month deposit and then one month rent upfront. Your deposit will be paid back at the end of the rental contract. This is the norm in the Netherlands.

Hey! It depends on where in Amsterdam you want to live. Some areas are more expensive than others. You will get away with 1.000 but that wont be in the main area. And around 1.300 and up in the main areas.

It doesn't really matter, does it :P. Pick the biggest and after you've done more research on them change them if you feel a different one would be better.
Well this will depend on the shops you will buy the clothes and sneakers from. But you can get away with 300 euros and obviously more if you buy branded clothes or at more expensive shops.
The board exam which I was talking about has nothing to do with the Netherlands. That’s part of the CA qualification in SA where you neet to pass 2 board exams in order to be qualified as a CA.

No not initially. It also depends on each country. For me to be a registered auditor here in NL I would need to write some exams on their regulations. But that’s only if you want to go that route with your CA career.

Hey Christina, do you by chance know the high school/international school hair regulations? I've heard the dutch are accepting people and i'm kind of hoping I can grow my hair out in the Netherlands. South African schools are really thick when it comes to hair regulations.

Hey, ja presies dit. Ek het my salaris in Euro eers einde Januarie gekry en my relocation allowance eers einde Februarie. So moes baie van my eie geld gebruik om in te settle en deposito’s betaal.
HSM does not require you to be under 30. You get paid more if over 30 on HSM. Very little guidance here as your company did everything...

I really enjoy the Dutch people. They are very friendly and very helpful. You do however get the rude once but it’s the same everywhere. They take their work seriously as well as rules so they will be very firm with that.

Ek dink SAICA het spesifieke plekke waar jy jou articles kan doen want hulle moet jou nogsteeds help om aan SAICA se standaarde en competencies te voldoen en ook ok jou 2de board exam te skryf. Ek weet jy kan jou articles in die UK doen maar nie seker oor Nederland nie. Ek dink dis iets wat jy by SAICA gaan moet ytvind.

That’s very strange. The netherlands are not that bad. If you have a good salary then you will def find a place. But the demand is also high in NL.
@@christinasdream5398 As a Dutch person i can confirm that within the current house market it is getting harder by the day to find a good place to buy or rent without having to overpay due to the shortage as we speak.

Hey Chantilly. It’s my pleasure. I really think there is a demand for anyone in the accounting industry. I would however say it would just be a little bit more difficult as the demand might not be that high as it is for CA’s but it does not mean that you won’t find a suitable job. Robert Walters is a really good recruiting company if you want to know more about the demand. Hope my answer helps.
It was illegal of your landlord to ask for a few months in advance. You should be able to get that back somehow. The abuse the situation that you are not from the Netherlands and will be unfamilliar with laws here.
It was not illegal. That is how it works when you go into a rental agreement. You pay one month deposit and then one month rent upfront. Your deposit will be paid back at the end of the rental contract. This is the norm in the Netherlands.

If you are Lucky enough to get one. Finding living space in Amsterdam is rather difficult because, for some weird reason or something, everyone seems to want to live there. I can 't really imagine why
Hey! It depends on where in Amsterdam you want to live. Some areas are more expensive than others. You will get away with 1.000 but that wont be in the main area. And around 1.300 and up in the main areas.

It doesn't really matter, does it :P. Pick the biggest and after you've done more research on them change them if you feel a different one would be better.

Well this will depend on the shops you will buy the clothes and sneakers from. But you can get away with 300 euros and obviously more if you buy branded clothes or at more expensive shops.

No if you want to but branded clothes and sneakers you will need way more. A pair of nike sneakers is around 90-120 euros.

The board exam which I was talking about has nothing to do with the Netherlands. That’s part of the CA qualification in SA where you neet to pass 2 board exams in order to be qualified as a CA.

No not initially. It also depends on each country. For me to be a registered auditor here in NL I would need to write some exams on their regulations. But that’s only if you want to go that route with your CA career.

Yes, I am currently working here as my qualification is known and on the same standards as NL.
