      You can get the basic ticket at the same machine where you buy the liner ticket. If you pause at 1:25 you'll see the option to buy both.

      Guessing you figured it out but the turnstile is for the basic fare only. So either enter your printed basic fare ticket or tap. Not both.

    Wonderful content! Just a question, in the video you mentioned Basic ticket? Can you share the info and how to purchase basic ticket? Since you already purchased Keisei liner ticket, I'm confused what it is.

      The popular transportation IC card in Japan is called Suica. I don't think it's necessary if you have already purchased the Keisei Liner. can i solve your problem?

      The Keisei Liner requires a liner ticket and a Basic ticket. You can pay for this ticket with a transportation IC card(Suica), but if you don't have one, you can buy just the Basic ticket at a ticket vending machine.

    So just to be clear, you need to purchase a IC card (Suica or Passmo) to go through the ticket gate correct? Also, when do you scan the actual ticket? Is it checked on the train by the conductor?

      There are two types of tickets. One is a liner ticket. The other is a basic ticket. Basic tickets can be purchased using an IC card or with cash. There will be a check by the conductor on the train.

    Are there still Suica Cards as of April, 2024? I don't understand the process through the gate if there are no more Suicas. How is the gate opened electronically with just the paper ticket without Suica? Also, When you buy a ticket for Ueno, it is direct?...there is no stop or transfer at Nippori? Thanks!

      Currently, new Suica cards are not being issued due to material procurement issues. Also, you can pass through the gate with a ticket even if you don't have a Suica. The Keisei Skyliner stops at Narita Airport → Airport Terminal 2 → Nippori → Keisei Ueno. Keisei Ueno is the last stop.

      I think you can. You should be able to fit up to 28 inches (less than 89L) in the space.

    Hi Sir,
    Im going to Japan on Saturday and i just want to confirm. We’re going to buy the Welcome Suica card. If we take the Keisei Skyliner to Nippori Station, we only need to buy the liner ticket and then tap the Welcome Suica card at the gate right? We don’t need to insert the liner ticket right? Then when we arrive at Nippori Station, we tap the Welcome Suica again at the gate to exit the station and that’s all.

    i am trying to understand as much as possile before i leave the uk for japan in april, as i will be very tired after a 17hr flight.. so have i got this right? you need one ticket for the train which ever train company you are using and one for the entrance to the station which is the basic tickt, there are some trains yu dont need a basic , is the basic ticket also called the boarding pass? what was that machine on the platform where the train was coming in, im assuming thats to get a train ticket as you woulnt get through the other one without a station ticket?

      Most trains only have one ticket. The Shinkansen, Narita Express, and Skyliner require two tickets (a train ticket + a limited express ticket). The vending machine on the platform is for a limited express tickets.

    I have a question, can I buy my Skyliner ticket on the same day I arrive in Japan? I'm staying at a hotel near Uguisudani Station. I'm wondering if I buy it on the same day, there won't be any availability. And lastly, when I reserve my seat, should I inform them that I'm carrying a large suitcase? Or will there always be room for suitcases?

      I believe u have claim the paper ticket from the same machine or at the counter. U show or scan your e ticket. The option is right below on the bottom left

      Narita Airport → Kinshicho (Narita Line)
      Kinshicho → Ryogoku (Sobu Line)
      The duration is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Have a wonderful trip!

      That's a difficult question. Normally, it is rare for the items to be sold out, but since there are a lot of people traveling to Japan these days, there is a high possibility that they will be sold out.

      It is unlikely that Skyliner tickets will be sold out. I think you should buy it at Narita like in this video instead of online.

      ①To ride the Skyliner, you need two types of tickets a liner ticket and a basic ticket. Liner tickets will be checked by railway staff on the train. Basic tickets are passed through a machine.
      ②There are two ways to purchase basic tickets. One is an IC card. Payment can be made with an IC card by touching the machine. Second, buy a ticket. In this case, you don't touch it, you put it in the machine and it passes.

I was just wondering at first why some videos they scan physical liner ticket in blue gate and then tap IC card and then other videos like yours just tap the IC card only.       There is a taxi stand at Keisei Ueno Station. However, the taxi stand is not at the main entrance, but inside the station, and is on the left as soon as you exit the ticket gate. This is extremely rare for a call button type taxi stand.

    I’ve read that when people mean the JR Ueno Station, they say Ueno (not JR Ueno), but if it’s the Keisei Ueno, they say Keisei Ueno. But in your video you refer to the Keisei Ueno by Ueno. That’s confusing.

      The Narita Express does not stop directly at Ueno, so there is no round-trip pass. The Skyliner, which directly connects Narita and Ueno, does not have a round-trip pass, but the Skyliner is cheaper than the Narita Express.
