As relates to shredding, many libraries have heavy duty shredders for public use. If yours doesn’t, perhaps get involved with your library’s “friends” group that runs the book sales. In our group, the book sale funds are used to buy “nice to have items” the library budget doesn’t allow. I keep a small shopping bag (think gift bag size) and when it’s full, I shred it on my next library run. (I have worked through my old files and shredded them a few years ago).
