not sure if you have mentioned this but if you are running Tephra V7 this was a known issue. i fought this for a long time with my evo 9. i ended up going to a Tephra v5.10 style rom and i never had the issue again. unfortunately this style rom doesn't have the big maps and the boost control tables do not offer as much resolution. I plan on going back to v7 since i will be running ID1700s and a Walbro 450 to feed my 6266 enough fuel on e70. so i'm sure i'll start seeing this again.
My Evo VIII MR pretty much does the same thing as yours. Once the engine warms up and goes to closed loop gets super lean AFR goes off the AEM wideband gauge almost dies then surges and repeats the process. When driving all good AFR readings accept when sitting idle at the stop light it wants to die. I switched out my Walbro 255 to DW 65C fuel pump and same issue. I do have a new COP system to install and try that out...who knows at this point if will help.
Do a coil on plug setup you can use k20 coil packs you just have to make a coil plant for them and I’m sure you can find the Wright up on how to wire it up we did it on my cousins evo and work fin he was kind of going through the same thing on his evo 9 and he did the same thing you did in the TB haha but I think it’s the tune tho
Your starter might have given up on you. I have the same problem, my car dies trying to go back to idle from driving. My starter gave out from having to start over and over every time.

Check your iac valve or your map sensor happen to my evo 9 and the issue was the iac valve.

Had a friend who’s lean issue came from the fuel pump bucket itself. Once he changed it, it was running fine.
hmmm that's a weird one to catch we will see!
Christopher Goorbarry there’s a filter that’s not serviceable built into the bucket which was clogged for him.

What made you go with an AEM instead of a walbro 450?
I only have 1000cc injectors 340 is more than enough honestly 450 walbro is good as well!!

1000cc FIC high Z injectors
