      left hand maybe, but the rhythm and the right hand makes it definitely a lot harder. the original is so much easier in comparison

      Dav Lee you are so right. Classical pianists never think about groove so they never take rhythm and the ability to keep a solid groove into account when talking about difficulty. Thank you for the thoughtful comment.

      Jacob KollerMusic having played the original since i was about 12 ( without proper piano basics but just kept practicing in parts over and over again till it was okay to hear) when I saw this i was flipping out lol. thank you for the orgasm

      Interesting side fact: Chopin never wanted to publish Fantasie Impromptu - he thought it was too similar with Beethoven Moonlight Sonata. One of his students published it after his death. Imagine this masterpiece would just have been destroyed like Chopin dared.

      Likely trying to get out in order to thank Jacob for his treatment of a piece he wasn't exactly thrilled about. Fred's music lends itself exceedingly well to jazz re-harmonization and improvisation, it's a testament to the quality of it's craftsmanship and sound harmonic underpinnings. Fred likely would have dabbled with jazzier harmonies had he been around Paris when the jazz bug hit.

    I can appreciate what he is doing here. And I do like to hear variations, this one is good in its own right and it conveys its own feeling associated with the style in which it is played. Nothing like the original by Chopin, though. You get a feeling with THAT version that is unparalled and timeless.

    • @MrJdsenior
      @MrJdsenior 5 лет назад +2

      Mike...Not sure he was looking to improve on it, as you say. And I agree the original is some of the best out there. But I enjoyed this, too. Give his Pink Panther a listen, I think he REALLY DID improve that one. My favorite arrangement, anyway.
