That was one terrible Smaland player...being a radar DD, I wouldve popped radar to catch any DD on C before moving in. Not to mention that he didnt use his guns knowing he has one of the fastes ROF's in a DD. lastly, I never go into a cap alone unless I have support like the Z-52 did
To be honest he was mostly unlucky, PONY - players are usually decent. The Z52 just dumped his torps before the Smaland was spottet and they happened to be in the Smalands path to island cover. Of course it was kinda sus that he dived bow in into the cap instead of reversing behind the island, but that was his only mistake imo. He had no reason to expect torps at that point. Such rounds happen to the best. The Z52 player had an amazing round though. Skill+luck = Hardcarry
Gearing is known to have a quite wide hull compared to the other DDs and it has a 21mm side plating instead of the usual 19mm, so when broadside, if you're far enough, Z52's APs can definitely arm and deal pen damage.

Huh? Gearing took penetration dmg from Z52 AP? Did they reduce armor treshold for overpen in Z52 or did they buff (nerf) gearing's armor??
