This video highlights installation of a Strutmasters suspension conversion kit on the REAR two wheels of a BMW X5. This video covers model years 2013 to 2018.
Important: There may have been updates to the installation process since this video was made. Please FOLLOW THE PAPER INSTRUCTIONS that come with the kit for the most up to date installation procedure.
Our products are designed to be simple to install, provide a great ride quality and save customers thousands of dollars versus OE replacement parts. We work on customer vehicles every day to design new products and to stay on top of the latest suspension challenges.
Strutmasters was the first to offer a fully assembled suspension conversion kit in 1999. The company is still headquartered in North Carolina, with a team that strives to provide the best products and customer service in the industry. We use premium steel coil springs that are made exclusively for us in America. All of our conversion kits are assembled in small batches by experienced employees to ensure the highest quality.
These electronically-controlled factory suspension systems are very complicated and expensive! A common failure happens when rubber in the system cracks and leaks air or hydraulic fluid -- causing the onboard air compressor or hydraulic pump to eventually fail. This results in an immediate loss of ride height and renders many vehicles undriveable. Older, high-mileage vehicles will generally require multiple repairs to keep the system working. Some customers have spent upwards of five to eight thousand dollars or more (parts and labor) chasing a failing factory system.
Don't learn the hard way! Avoid multiple repairs that come with fixing the existing system (especially with cheap, imitation parts). Fix It Once, Fix It Right with the original -- Strutmasters! Obtain the vehicle ID (VIN) number and get the exact product for your vehicle by calling one of our suspension experts at 866-597-2397.

Awesome video. well done. Wondering if anyone can help with air suspension issue I have. Vehicle was sagging so I replaced the air bags. This fixed the issue for about 5 days. Then sagged again, this time air compressor would run for 10--15 seconds then shut off and no air would go into air bags. I replaced the entire air compressor unit, so this rules out the compressor, the solenoid valve, decadent beads, etc. The new compressor runs for 1 second and shut offs, no air going into airbags. I checked air lines and they are all good. Wondering if the system needs to be re-calibrated with the ITSA software? Not sure what to do...

I think switching from air to coil spring might be ur best option

@@RODRIGUEZMAKAVELI Brought it into euro mechanic. He just cleared the error code on the ECU and replaced the ai suspension fuse..even though the fuse tested fine, he replaced it anyway. This solved the problem. BMW would have charged me approx 3-4k for all of this work. I did the airbags and compressor myself for $450.. just had an extra week of frustation because I did not have the software to clear the error code myself. I think buying the ITSA software would be a good move for any future DIY.

You don't need to turn off the compressor or took out the diffuser?
Also can you do anything for the error message in the dash? I contacted a bmw coder and he told me that he would have to turn off EDC because of the adaptive suspension, and I also noticed you have the same.

      I just ordered these for my 2013 x5 50i
They sell these with the fault delete so that the leveling light doesnt go on.
Pretty sure it shuts the compressor off.
Or you can just pull the fuse from it (prior to starting the job) so it doesnt stay running while doing this. Tape off the old airbag lines incase you ever want to go BACK to air suspension.
