Its because we can make fun out of people with fancy titles and autorities. In the US , autority is something you are supposed to automatically respect. Like we had a american doctor, insisting on being called by DR .. and this is not normal here, there is no reason to do it.. hence he was appauled and started with the " i worked my butt off to get that title " bla bla... who cares...
