King is my favorite singer in all of metal. Spider Lilly blew my fucking mind! Sounds incredible live and in studio! This song is groovy as hell! They use a fucking tambourine lmao! If the rest of his album is of this quality then we are in for a treat! Weirdly enough this song is really resonating with casuals! My 60 year old Jazz loving aunt loved this!!
Speaking as a huge King Diamond and Mercyful Fate fan, and a fan of the later catalog of both bands, I really liked the song live-and yes, it was part of the setlist here in Toronto. However, I think the production is coming out extremely weak. I had this feeling already when "Masquerade of Madness" came out, and unfortunately, this one is no different. It sounds pretty much in the vein of what they did on "Give Me Your Soul... Please", which is a shame. It’s a pretty big step down from "Abigail II" and "The Puppet Master". I also think the part in the middle slows things down terribly. I love the riffs and the intro, but the production could be punchier. Hoping that experiencing these new songs as part of the album will have a better impact. Cheers! Stay heavy!
Well,I have heard this track at least 6 times already and as a BIG King's fan I must say it is...okay. I mean nobody expected that King is going to re-invent himself after so many years but you could expect at least something fresh, you know what I mean? This song is okay. It is good. But nothing more.
Hah, you said its 2024 when it is clearly 2025. I will let it slide this time because I don't believe in the chronology of time, but others may view it differently. Or they might want to argue over the squealy voice of King Diamond for the first time in history. Both equally important things to consider, I'm glad I brought it up.
@@APREACTS It's a joke about how futile it feels for people to bring up King Diamonds voice since basically the bands inception, but yeah. I love the track and am annoyed about complaints ever since King Diamond was founded in '74. If one doesn't like the voice just don't listen to it. For the record I begrudgingly believe in the chronology of time and do understand the difference between recording and upload date/set live of a video if it makes you feel any better :)
That ultra high pitch squeal is silly. I never got into King Diamond solely based on that from the first time I heard his Christmas song in like 1989. He has great lower pitch singing but that squeal is annoying
yeah... i have tried multiple times to get into this band, he always gets such high praise by all the metal heads, and the band has the musicianship for sure....but the vocals are just so over the top and lame.... i don't mind power metal vocals and can appreciate some high falsetto but throughout a whole song , on top of thrashy nwobhm sound just sounds odd. i rather listen to mercyful fate for some reason.
@Thullin13 Merciful Fate Music is unmatched but to me the vocals sound the same back then as King Diamond solo work. I can praise him for still not having lost his singing voice like everyone else but it's not one that ever suited my ears anyways
68 years old and he's still killing it 🤘🤘
Saw this show in Cincinnati! Was absolutely awesome! Was such as added bonus with Myrkur that night! She's great! Love her solo stuff!
❤ KING reactions

King Diamond and In Flames are my favorite live bands

I totally agree. Better than the last single but nothing spectacular

That time of the year where you forget you are already in 2025

I feel if metal bands went to school,l King Diamond's band would get bullied😅😅
respect yer elders!! :)
Love King Diamond, but I wish he would ever let the drummer play drums.
To be honest,I am impatient to hear new Mercyful Fate stuff. MF were always heavier and more riff-based than King's solo material.

Yep, voice kills it for me big time ! can't stand it.
The song will make more sense when the album comes out. As with all his stuff in general.
