At 14:32 I worked at that shop on the right. Paint O Rama collision back in the 80's across from Hermans Gardens. We went to that party store every day on lunch, man could I tell you some stories. Thanks for the video Frank

I like the way that you are describing Detroit on this video. As someone who lives a half hour from Detroit, it gives me great pride to hear you detail everything respectfully! It’s another RUclipsr that makes videos like this, and the disgusting racial undertones that he use are literally cringeworthy. I hope you get many subscribers……. You just earned one here 🙋🏽‍♀️

I live on Joy in Westland now. I'd move back to Detroit in a second if I could get my childhood home back. Trenton and McGraw. The now yellow house by the billboard sign. I'd have that yellow siding taken off and restore to white.

There is no house iin Detroit that goes for $500.00 or $600.00, You can barely get one for $700.00 so yyou are wrong on that $850.00 or better, yyiu can't even get an apartment fior less then $800.00 any lower you getting getting a ghetto home or apartment

I drove that route 5 days a week. It breaks my heart ❤️ now. But I could have gave you a better tour . You passed by plenty of places. Where famous people. Grow up . David Ruffin , prairie & Joy rd . Judge Mathis Greenfield & Southfield. Judge Bennie Neopoleon . Smokey Robinson , had relatives that lived on prairie. Seen him quite often, as a child. Good history there .💯

I grew up on the 9100 block of Prairie between Chicago & Joy Rd. That "Dollar Daze" at the 5:09 mark used to be "Food-a-Rama" back in the day. Prairie can be seen at 5:31 mark. I lived one block down from there.I used to go to the dairy queen on Wyoming, off of Joy Rd, just a few steps away from Mckenzie high school. My cousins lived on Mendota, between Joy Rd & Chicago. I'm definitely from Joy Rd. Thanks for posting this.

I've recently been checking out Detroit's real estate and came across your videos; they're very enjoyable. What is going on in Detroit? Why is real estate so cheap? There are some nice places for sale over on E. Outer Drive that are very nice looking and very cheap; I don't get it. Is unemployment so bad up there? Have gangs taken over? I would love to hear more about the city. Keep up the great work.

Joy Road and Clairmount intertwined in that area near Grand River. We lived at Joy Road and American Street. The streets got all chopped up after I-96 was constructed, and we used to take the Joy Road bus to Northwestern High School, but would have to transfer to the Dexter Bus, at Grand River and East Grand Blvd, or we just walked to the school. So much history in that area.
You passed right by our home on American Street!
We used to shop at the Food-A-Rama, on Livernois and Joy Road. We could walk anywhere during the 60’s and 70’s!
