My way for the powdered cheese version is to actually not add the milk but just add the 4 tablespoons of butter and stir over low heat until it is melted. Not adding the milk gives it a much sharper and cheesier taste!

@@ButterbiscuitH2O it's great in my personal opinion! There is a little more work that needs to be put into the stirring since you're not adding the milk. But the taste is perfection!

As a mother who has been cooking KD for ever and a day, it really isn't that much of a surprise to see a segment like this. Honestly I have seen some ppl make the most horridly gross Mac & Cheese cause despite what the directions say there is subtly in when & how much milk & butter you add to make it creamy. I have seen ppl end up with crunchy KD from not cooking the pasta long enough or to mushy for over cooking it, Ive seen KD come out dry & sticky for not adding enough butter & milk or quickly enough while the pasta is still hot to make the butter melt and blend well with the cheese powder. I've seen KD come out unevenly coated with lumps of powder from not enough stirring and blending. So ya there is a slight art to making great KD. Just saying *shrugs*

Anyone here old enough to remember when Kraft Mac n Cheese had the tin of liquid cheese (like nacho cheese consistency) instead of the powder? That stuff was awesome! I'd help my mom and only put 3/4 of the cheese in, then sneak off and eat the rest with a spoon. Haha!
