Stark is number one because he just didn't go all out in the fight. 1) Barragan the king of Hueco Mundo, Aizen waltz to his throne saying Barragan should be under him before even Soul Society Arc, Yet he only went to Stark when he fused with Hougyoku, that's how afraid Aizen was to Stark. 2) Stark as mentioned in the anime/manga, has a Vasto Lorde form when he met Aizen (same form as hollow Ichigo which cleaned Ulquiorra 2nd form) and it was so strong that any hollow that was around him without even him wanting will die just from pure spiritual pressure alone. For comparison, if Ulquiorra 2nd form has the same power as Vasto Lode Stark, then Orihime and Uryu wouold've been dead just by his presence alone yet we don't see that happening. That just means he's not at Stark level yet. 3)Stark is powerful enough to fire consecutive Ceros, yes they are only ceros which are the weakest base attack of arrancars. but think about if there's a single other arrancar who can fire multiple ceros at a fast rate.. even Ulquiorra's lance needs some charging time, the closest is Yami's balas but they aren't as fast shot as Stark's. 4) Stark has the OP ability to split his soul countless times yet all those souls (wolfs) has the same amount of power as him, meaning he is defying logic because normally splitting soul means splitting your power as well, yet his clones retains the same amount of power. So imagine fighting thousands of starks at the same time. 5) He only was defeated via plot armor and not taking the fight seriously. Just think about it, if he can split his souls and use those soul wolfs to explode infinitely or at least multiple times, Shinsui and the gang will die. (they already had a hard time dealing with 1 or 2 of those exploding wolfs, yet for some reason Stark stopped at a few and didnt spam those exploding wolves)
Ichigo essentially won the genetic lottery and got all the powers. He technically already has all the power from the start, it's just a matter of knowing how to utilize the abilities given to him/needing the necessary triggers to be able to access them.
2:25 - Kenpachi literally supresses his powers subconciously whenever he fights someone weaker than him, because he loves fighting so much he wants the battles to last as long as possible

Only reason why mayuri could've won is because of how smart he is to adapt in battle. Mayuri without being smart is almost as bad as an average captain like Kensei, or Soi fon.

Watching this vid makes me get the feeling of introducing an anime that I love to a classmate, and coming to class tomorrow and he's so hype to this new show I recommended to him. it's such a good feeling.

Its not that stark was weak, its just that he was 2v1ing the 2nd and 3rd strongest captains in the gotei 13 for a while and he still made the 2nd strongest captain almost use his bankai.Kyoraku(2nd strongest captain) at that point of time was probably almost as strong as vastolirde Ichigo who violated 2nd res Ulquiorra so yeah.
Think about it this way, kyoraku would whoop grimjow(6th espada) and noitora(5th espada) at the same time in a 1v2 and he probably wont even need Bankai.
The thing that people get wrong about Aizen is that he knows everything he doesn't he planned for everything to happen once his plans come into place it looks like he knew everything but he doesn't he just planned for it to happen

Most Quincy's are stronger than soul reapers, that should explain why Uryu beat mayuri off-guard.
