Here is the website to the Ranch. This is the Cow Camp Experience. It’s super unique compared to the others, but honestly the whole ranch and everything they offer is lovely. www.bitterrootranch.com/the-ranch/
Thank you for all the info Shae 😃greatly appreciate it. Keep up with your videos absolutely LOVE them, Love you, and love, love, love all your fur babies 🐎 especially your new baby Mushu ❤️ (sorry if spelling is wrong 😔) Blessings my dear 🙌 Jennifer 💞
This was INCREDIBLE to watch!! I’m so jealous and happy for you at the same time. I’d never be able to ride for that length of time. I’ve not been on a horse for so many years. The number one thing on my bucket list before I die is to ride a horse on the beach. I’ve not owned my own horse since 2004. I miss just spending time with them. 💛🧡
Shae, this camping trip is amazing and exciting. Kyle was there and was able to go fly fishing!! Wow. Amazing as a lifestyle. Watching day three now. Exciting you all had a guest from Scotland (my mom's heritage and background) and from France. Lol, I would have wanted to converse with them some. All so interesting and seeing terrain and antelope!
This is the life. When you bond with your horse. Out trekking/trail riding, you don't know where you are. You rely on not only your lead but put faith in your horse, for discipline and careful footing. This looks so much fun. Even someone like yourself with your own farm and riding school. You still allow for time to get out there, adapt and experience other places.
I did the city slicker thing in northern Arizona and had the time of my life. Got my credits when a horse got away and out of 5 people the ranglers called my name t go catch him. 5 days of heaven.
I really enjoy watching your videos!! I'm just a city girl from Dallas Tx who has no experience w horses or ranching or farming but I live vicariously through you and all the people who put up these kind of stories! Thank you!
OMG! Thank you for the memories. My Mom, sister, and I rounded up cattle in MT for my 35th bday! 20 yrs ago. We were all single at the time so they were thinking singles cruise. Let me think about it. We did a city slickers trip. Was thinking about a place near Glacier National Park similar to what you guys just did, but Mom had to be back in a room/bed/tub each night, plus they were sold out for 2 years. Shout out to Careless Creek Ranch in Shawmut, MT! We were their last group. We picked up another rancher, his horse, and his dog on the way, along with 13 other ranchers, to get the cattle off the govt lands before winter. Saw a herd of elk that am. Oh, and they had 7 herds of sheep with a Great Pyrenees dog guarding each herd. Trip of a lifetime and we still talk about it to this day. Mom is not an animal person and is afraid of horses. They put her on Dan, the tallest horse, but the most sure footed. I got to vaccinate the cattle too. We got back from the trip and they told Mom she had a life threatening heart condition. She chuckled and said, guess it was a good thing we went on vacation, huh? Thank God she's still with us. Mitral valve repair and 1 CABG - 90% blockage. Thank you again horse lover!
Just seeing this video a year later but the first thing I think of was the movie City Slickers! I know this was not like the movie but I saw a little humor! Loved the scenery! Just beautiful! Glad you had so much fun!
Thank you so much for sharing this video. It looks like a terrific vacation trail ride my shower with you all. Thank you so much to Kyle for the beautiful video work.
Wow! What an amazing adventure! That’s a whole lot of riding!!!! Bless Kyle for riding horses with you for 5 hrs a day on vacay 😂 My partner is allergic to horses so this would be a HUGE stretch for him lol. Thanks for sharing 😊
We used to camp in Yosemite growing up. You could rent horses and go all over the park. It's fabulous. My favorite memories of Yosemite ❤ What fantastic memories you're making!! I'd love to have been there ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Oh, Shae! What paradise! Bet you wanna return sometime soon! Penny (?) the Border Collie did a fab job at taking care of the whole crew, including the cattle. Can't blame her for taking off up the butte to get a better look, can you? Woof woof! Wahoo for your wonderful experience! Count me IN!!! 🤠💯❤🔥
OMG, you're near my old stompin' grounds. I played for 10 years in the Cheyenne Symphony. The sun at that altitude has less atmosphere to filter through and more UV gets through. I am quite fair skinned also and I can't count the times the top of my head, and the rest of me for that matter, was sun-burned. And it happens so fast. I used to joke that we were closer to the sun. My time in the mountains was usually spent flyfishing. I looked up the ranch and realize now it is quite a bit north of Cheyenne and Laramie. Still familiar landscapes. They change very quickly. The antelope are still fascinating to me.
What a beautiful experience. The horses are well taken care of. You will remember this trip for a long time. Thank you for taking us along. You are probably looking forward to seeing your own horses. Have a safe trip!

Wy is one if the top 10 states in size but only has about 500,000 people in it. More mule deer, antelope, and prairie dogs than people. Must see is Devil's Tower. MT. Rushmore isn't too far away in S. Dakota.
Loved this video! I have never been out west. So informative, beautiful scenery, and fun to watch. I am from Michigan too, Port Huron area, so it is great to see other parts of America especially on horseback! Thanks for sharing your vacation 😊
We took a trip to Glacier National Park and wanted to take a trail ride. We hadn’t ridden horses for several years so I was so sore after that 3 hour ride in the mountains! 😂
I can't wait to see you ride in Iceland have you thought about doing that ? You are a horse lover you take your vacations with horses ! Thanks for sharing 🐎😄
Shae, I just HAD to watch the video again. Spectacular, isn't it?!! I also read just about every word on the Ranch's site. What a wonderous place. I'm glad you got to go. And that you chose the most fun package! And you guys did such a good job making the video! Wahoo!! 🤠🤠🐎🐎💞
Loved seeing this. If you and your husband ever go abroad you should look into Horizon Horseback Adventures in South Africa. I think regardless of where you go U.S. or abroad seeing the land via horseback is the best way to go, it allows you the time to really experience it and take it in.
I loved everything! But that BC was so adorable! He/she kept looking back to make sure everyone was following, and then when he crossed the creek he was so cute looking to see that y’all were crossing too. Also I’m a bit biased as I have a border collie. I wish she could have these experiences, but alas, she’s a suburb pup. 🥰🐴🐶
Hi Shea. This vacation reminds me of one a friend and I took in 2005. We went to a "Dude Ranch" on Colorado, south of Colorado Springs and west of Pueblo. I wanted to do a cattle drive/camp but they didn't offer it in late August (actually ran into Labor Day weekend & same one when Katrina hit N'ORLEANS). We had a very good time and one trail ride took us into the mountains on a very thin trail where my heart nearly jumped out of my chest when my horse stumbled. I'm not a very good horse person so it was really scary when she tripped on the shale. The scenery was much like where you were but we had more trees than pastures.
Wow.. thank you for this ! I am planning to visit Wyoming as soon as i can work it out! What i say is i want to ride across wyoming and get some sand in my teeth! ❤
You have the most adventures! It reminds me of the time I visited my sister who lived on a cattle ranch in British Columbia. We brought the cattle in so the calves could be branded. The horses they had were the Percheron quarter crosses too, very calm and reliable. What a cool trip you had!
Wife.....WOW, What a truly beautiful and wonderful opportunity. You find so many amazing places to go Shae. Thank you so much for always taking us along on these magical adventures. It was great 😁 I must ask the big question though...... Did you find it kind of weird not riding your own horses?? I mean I know I would. Your so used to riding your babies, knowing each ones personalities.....what they like what they don't care for etc. Loved every minute of it 😃 Blessings 🙌 Jennifer 💞
Thank you! I didn’t find it weird at all, I was super comfortable, but I did miss being able to do what I want like I can on my horses. Haha! With your own horses you have all the freedom 🐎😂✨
Love it! On the one time I got to ride a horse on a trail ride, in Palo Duro Canyon in Texas, I learned how to lay down backwards as the horse went down a steep stream bank, scared me, but it worked and I didn’t fall off.( I am totally not horse trained). I have a question, what are you to expect when the leader goes so slow your horse keeps bumping the rear of the horse in front and you keep having to slow it down? Is that normal? Love your channel, blessings!!
What a great experience. I've been watching your videos every day now for a while. You mentioned that you used to live in Washington. What city? I live in Rochester WA just south of Olympia. You've got me wanting a horse again. It's been almost 30 years so I'm taking my time and relearning from you. I love your horses especially your beautiful Gypsy Vanner!!
What a fun trip. Chasing cattle can be trying at best if they don’t want to cooperate. Been there lol. The country is so beautifully awesome. Thanks for sharing you amazing vacation. ♥️🐴👍😁
Who video tapes for you? What an amazing experience!!! I have always wanted to go out that way for a camp like this! Definitely on my bucket list when I get a chance!
I'm biased because the Big Horns are my stomping ground but people should check them out. I think there was a place that did trail rides up there as well. I'm so excited you got to enjoy our great state!
@@freespiritequestrian For you and your viewers, Eaton's Ranch is a dude ranch near Sheridan WY. Each May they drive their horses from their winter pasture to the ranch through Sheridan, easily 100 head or more. It truly is an incredible sight. You can see past drives here on RUclips, just search Eaton Ranch Horse drive. So, for anyone looking more more horse adventures in WY, there ya go.
Really sounds like a cool trip. I’m curious what they charge for this. In getting there, I’m sure you drove through the town I lived in when I was in Wyoming (Evanston, on the boarder with Utah). I had most of my life contact with horses when I lived in Wyoming.
Wow, this was a super cool video...I am going to put this kind of thing on my bucket list!... Though did your butt/legs get sore from riding so long? Those horses sure must be fit...plus that is one border collie that is getting enough exercise but amazing how she still runs off anyway.
You were "obsessed" with Outlaw He's huge. Questions: Shae, what breeds were all the horses? Also, Ross had an extra horse untacked, going into the trip but not coming back. What was she used for? Emergencies or pack? Why did they change you from Rumy to Miss Annie? Finally, did your horses wear shoes as the creek beds were rocky, and you could see the horses gingerly stepping their way through the water? Did a trail ride over the Rocky Mountains in Colorado but nothing like your Bitterroot Ranch experience. Wyoming at this time of year was awesome. Will definitely watch this video again, great narration and the camp-fire cooking made me hungry. There was the girl from Scotland and the family from France trying to see the real USA. 🤩🤩🤩
They were a variety of breeds from Appaloosa’s, Friesian/Draft Xs, and Quarter horses. Ross’s trip is associated with the Ranch but all of these are his personal horses (not the ranch’s) and he keeps them up at cow camp for the summer. So when he leaves he brings all of them down and back so they aren’t alone up in the mountains. They switch out horses so they horses can get a break that’s why I switched horses. Yes all of the horses have shoes. It was super unique and fun.
Here is the website to the Ranch. This is the Cow Camp Experience. It’s super unique compared to the others, but honestly the whole ranch and everything they offer is lovely.

I'm biased because the Big Horns are my stomping ground but people should check them out. I think there was a place that did trail rides up there as well. I'm so excited you got to enjoy our great state!
Wow that’s cool! ❤️
Thanks for an awesome vid. Aussie fan
That looks so cool hope you had fun ❤️
It was awesome 😎
Really sounds like a cool trip. I’m curious what they charge for this. In getting there, I’m sure you drove through the town I lived in when I was in Wyoming (Evanston, on the boarder with Utah). I had most of my life contact with horses when I lived in Wyoming.
It about $1750. Website is linked :)
@@freespiritequestrian thank you 🙏. I was having trouble finding the prices. I think this sounds fantastic.
This is awesome!! My kind of vacation for sure!!!❤️
Right?! It was a good time.
You do such a great job on the video footage and editing.
Loved this video...thank you for sharing.
❤️❤️
Looks like a great horse riding...❤❤❤
Wow, this was a super cool video...I am going to put this kind of thing on my bucket list!...
Though did your butt/legs get sore from riding so long?
Those horses sure must be fit...plus that is one border collie that is getting enough exercise but amazing how she still runs off anyway.
YES! Mainly because we walked so much. I ride for a long period of time at home but we usually move out more.

If you ever come to Idaho, we have 2 minis and 4 quarter horses and an extra room:)
Oh WOW! My experience with Wyoming has always been the badlands with the mountains in the distance.
I would love to make a such horse vacation. Such Paradis Places.
AMAZING!!!! 😻 absolutely love your videos they just make my day! 🥰💙
Awwww thanks!!!! ❤️
