Yes, Queen Charlotte is frozen in time. Notice how in Bridgerton everyone in the Ton wears the umpire dresses while she still wears the fashion that was worn when she first married George. She may still dress this way so George would still recognize her during his illness. Lord Danbury is gone, sorrows, sorrows prayers.😊
Apparently in real life Queen Charlotte arranged for her daughters to have the same education as their brothers (which in those days was apparently rare, even in royal families - there was an 'understanding' of what boys were taught and what girls were taught), but she was often a bit distant with them, emotionally speaking.
Some say the majority of her daughters didn't marry because she didn't want them to, not sure about that one though.
I love this show! You are right, everyone in it is so amazing! The casting is spot on perfect.
I think it's safe to say we all fell in love with this show from the moment Simon lead Daphne onto the dance floor at the end of that very first episode (the scene with the firework display while they danced), and with each episode, with each focus couple, that love spreads throughout our bloodstreams and brings us the tears and joys that we had not even realised we needed to feel.
The acting in this show is phenomenal. After the final scene it’s hard to believe this is the young George actor’s first role because he killed it. The scene with George having his episode and Charlotte getting him to come inside was heartbreaking, but incredibly touching. I didn’t notice Reynolds performance the first time I watched but when I rewatched I noticed how sad he looked as Charlotte carried George away. He promised George that he wouldn’t let her find out and now she knows. You could tell he felt like he failed.
You mentioned her hair. Baby I was shocked it was 2 white ladies who were designing and putting those wigs on her. They did thar 🫰🏾🫰🏾🫰🏾🫰🏾
Those hairstyles actually make more sense with textured hair. That's why Queen Charlotte and Lady Danbury's wigs look so good. Even the white women have curly wigs, which historically needs to be examined. They didn't have naturally curly hair, so why was it the fashion to mimic curly hair?
I love seeing them wait on the Black Queen though. It's psychologically pleasing to see roles reversed. Shonda's brilliance.
@@AnaisKarim The big curly wigs and the big dresses were interesting when you think of it cos what women are known for curly hair and big butts
4:37 the breathing thing is so true when you think of people who piss you off 😆 I am like you, I don’t like tv sex scenes I get so uncomfortable too but I found the montage so hilarious 😆
Violet is only 12 years old, so she's not out in society. She isn't eligible to be courted for marriage, so her mother doesn't think she should mingle at social gatherings. She can go to the balls and not be out in society, but she can only dance with her daddy.
In real life they aren't sure what King George III actually had. There was speculation about a hereditary illness, but now that is disputed. The language didn't exist back then to diagnose a mental illness appropriately and the treatments were barbaric and made things worst. In regular Bridgerton, he has dementia on top of his earlier issues.
The difference between Queen Charlotte and President Obama is that she can actually change society. That's why Bridgerton is post racial for real. It's a successfully integrated society and this series explains how that happened.
Queen Charlotte had to learn how to rule and be the mother of the entire nation.
Lovely heartfelt reaction. Looking forward to your next foundation too. ❤from 🇬🇧
“You never have to thank me” jesus
The Queen's daughters never wanting to marry because they were afraid to leave their mother only to deal with trauma of her husband. Is absolutely heartbreaking to me. 😢😢
Do you think the role she had to play made having sex with her husband harder for Lady Danbury? Having to be a supportive and devoted wife to him, having to be a console and confident knowing he'd dismiss her opinions or tell her to be quiet at a moments notice, that that made having sex with him even worse?
The only way I think I'd be able to bear it would be by counting down from a million in my head - it's a long list and each number is a mouthful, it'd require a lot of focus and then it might be a good distraction from what was happening.
i would be happy too if he died 🤣🤣 everytime the danburys did it i gagged lol. but im sad for her that she actually didnt love him like violet did with her husband edmund.
the ending with the queen acting like venus was so beautiful & intimate but also sad because she doesnt really know whats going on with George
love your reactions!!!
