    The video always reminded me of a mash-up between Michael Jackson's "Scream" (1995) & TLC's "No Scrubs" (1999), the latter directed by Hype Williams. Love how futuristic the visual is. We need more of this type of creativity in today's scene.

    • @TRZI
      @TRZI 10 лет назад +55

      Hulkitout what does brainwashing have to do with anything? During the 90's people were on the whole futuristic tip , and a Timbaland beat was a must .

    All I want is for this sound to make a comeback. Even just for a short time. This late 90s early 00s millennium r&b pop sound was iconic.

    • @cuchanu
      @cuchanu 3 года назад +4

      I don't think iconic is the right word here. But either way, I think that aside from people who liked this music at the time, it's largely been forgotten.
      Contrast that with early 90's rap and some r&b, which has proven to have more lasting power and is even enjoyed by people who were too young to listen to it at the time (or maybe not even born yet). Or 70's soul. Late 60's/70's rock, Motown, 80's pop, funk, etc. All still relevant today.
      In other words, early the 2000's rap and r&b sound will probably be forgotten after the people who listened to it at the time are gone.

      I don't hear it. And don't forget: the late MJ was himself influenced by the music from the 50's.
      I was 38 when this came out; there's for me, personally, a melodic theme that just smoothes my faul moods, when I have one. Can't explain it- don't care much for their other work either. It's something about THIS song. As said in another comment: the production is TIGHT. Incredible.

    1995 to 2000 had some iconic futuristic music videos starting with Michael Jackson and Janet’s Scream and included several by Missy Elliot. This IMX song randomly came to my mind. I just remembered a bunch of girls shouting ‘Yeah’ to a guy that looked like Batman lmao

    This video is sooo late 90s. Wow never realized how similar a lot of these videos were.

      similarities in video now haven't changed a lot either they all kinda seem the same now. or in the very least the music styles themselves

      It was that millenial/Matrix/ end of the year/end of the decade/ end of the century/ end of the world FEEL
      You can see this in TLC, Nsync, Destiny's Child , Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Sisqo and countless others.
      We just knew the Earth was going to explode 😅😅😅

      Hahhaha We didnt have the luxuries or technology to purchasing songs back then, so I got my jukebox, plugged in a mic and started recording songs I liked from the box to a cassette!

    I LIKE 90s R&B FROM THE LATTER HALF OF THE 90s like THIS
    From 1995-1999. The 1990-1994 Were the classics, but '95-'99 had more uptempo, dance R&B Hits!! ;D

    This video and the other video, TLC "No Scrubs", the 2 videos are very similar to the video "Scream" by Michael and Janet Jackson. Even it is influential for the best music videos ever. 90s has it all!!!
