Soft-Spoken ASMR | Where Is THE ELDER SCROLLS 6 Set? (Elder Scrolls maps & relaxing sleep sounds)

- Hail, adventurers! Join me for a relaxing cartographic journey as I examine paper maps of Tamriel and speculate about the location of The Elder Scrolls 6! Will it be set in Hammerfell? High Rock? Skyrim?? I discuss fan theories, the clues found in the E3 2018 teaser trailer, existing Elder Scrolls lore, and the words of Todd Howard himself, to evaluate each province of Tamriel as a potential setting for TES6.
ASMR triggers include soft speaking, tracing, and paper sounds. Listen with headphones for the best experience!

---- WHAT IS ASMR? ----
My videos are designed to trigger a relaxing feeling known as ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response). ASMR is a particular sensation that some people experience when they hear quiet sounds like whispering and soft speaking, or watch certain actions like slow hand motions. ASMR is often described as a pleasant tingling on the head and neck, accompanied by a feeling of deep calm and mild euphoria. Many people watch ASMR videos to relax and combat anxiety, stress, or insomnia. To learn more about ASMR, check out asmruniversity.com/about-asmr.... - Игры
Can we all take a second to appreciate that the map was facing our way, making directions for us easier but harder for him. Thank you!
Let me quote Spock and say: The need of the many outway the need of the few.
Remember our teachers reading to us when we were 5 or 6 years old, and how they always read the books upside down? Much love to anyone who uses that skill to teach/entertain us
You want another like?
There you go.

But then I took an arrow to the knee
I’m hoping for Elsweyr tbh, I love Khajiit so much they’re my absolute favorite race. (Although the living, moving forests of Valenwood would be a sight to see...)
John Edward D. Elsweyr’s lore is too complex atm, if Bethesda made a little mistake, the lore wouldn’t make sense anymore
John Edward D. I don't trust the Khajiit
Unfortunately, the desert part of Elsweyr isn’t next to any coast, and is on a large plateau, so no big mountain formations
@@ichiroudesu_. I hope Bethesda never touches Elsweyr unless its with the touch of perfection, The Khajiit lore is just too complex for Bethesda to get right, then there is all the Sub-Speices of the Khajiit we see, all those different types, well, If they are not included then its just gonna suck, then there is the Multiple Land Fetures of Elsweyr that would just be almost Impossible to get all in one map, so yeah. Elsweyr should just be left alone.
My favorite provinces are Elsweyr and Black Marsh, but I doubt Bethesda would make a game where men/mer aren't the main race.
Nick brought his "million views" pen out, he means business.
Fun fact: it's actually a pencil!

I think you mean Arena 6
Pretty sure they'll rename it to Elder Scrolls One
dA nUbS Um Morrowind 3 duhhh
🤦♂️
My best bet would be Hammerfell.
What would be even better would be Hammerfell + High Rock.
What I would love would be the whole of Tamriel. But I understand that is unrealistic.
What would be AMAZING would be Akavir. The lore there, while sparse, is really interesting. The races sound awesome.
Moss
It can't be hammerfell, the only part of hammerfell matching this landscape would mean the sun is rising or setting in the north
What's your bet then?
Moss
High rock
Well I'm thinking it might be High Rock and Hammerfell. I feel either just on their own would be too small for a 'next-gen' game. I know that quantity doesn't equal quality, but a big open world is a good selling technique.
Moss
It won't be both, as that means we would lose out on detail and the culture would be watered down.
All the games have been scaled down, the only one that was true to the size in lore was daggerfall, which covered a small area yet was huge.
They can simply make the game world bigger
I genuinely have this map framed on my wall. It was my grandad's, as he got me into Skyrim. He's gone, but I will never forget. I will one day play the next game with my memories of him a long side me. :)
Caveman Productions This is both an awesome and very sad comment. I'm sorry to hear about your granddad, but man what a nice granddad to get you into this.
Teedle Tood thnx man, means alot. It's sad, but I go for him and do all I can to do what we would in any given situation. This is why I love this community so much, all good people chilling playing some elderscrolls :)

Crazy to think that even 5 years after this videos release, we are still 2-4 years away from ES6
😭
I love how you added the clip of the trailer every so often, made the video 10 times more enjoyable. Easily one of my favorite RUclips channels.
My prediction is both hammerfell and high rock. I can see them going for it forsure. Switching continents would be very interesting as welll.
Aren't you suppose to be dead?
Deucey D what is dead may never die....
Stannis Baratheon I love the way Hammerfell and High Rock look in TESO so I really hope it is one of the two.
This video is everything I have ever dreamed of. Thank you.
Hey its Captain! I was just watching your skyrim video last night.
Third time watching this and finally made it through the whole thing. So hard to watch interesting ASMR videos without falling asleep. This was perfect! I love the theories and totally agree that it's likely Hammerfell.
The exact battle I struggle with every night! 😩😂
I believe it’s time to get high in High Rock and hammered in Hammerfell…
And rimmed in skyrim? 😂😂😂😂😂😂🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 hahahahahaha
I cant wait to have es6 and a fat joint at the ready...
So far there’s actually next to *no* evidence for High Rock. I know that people won’t like to hear that, but I’ll provide very much evidence if anyone wants to reply to me on this.
Can't believe it's been 5 years since this video came out and we're still no closer to knowing where the newest game will be held. 😂😂
Maps, books, and stories are your best videos of all the time. Keep making more if you can
Dude, there are moments where you sit so still that I thought the video froze and only audio was coming through. And it just fits the asmr vibe so well. Love it.
Still coming back to this video years later. One compelling point for High Rock is that Bethesda said the first thing they do before creating a game is start by writing the music. They then start building the game around that feel.
i mean its probably high rock, at least thats what i feel from the teaser intro
Pyr0manc3y it should be more than just high rock because high rock is really really tiny, won’t be much to explore
The mental gimp they’ll probably upscale it to make it feel large, cause realistically skyrim is only the size of Dallas Texas, an example would be it takes 2 hours real time to run across it and in skyrim it takes 2 hours of “game” time to run across it
It’s probably hammerfell i think.
The mental gimp game size is all relative to the game the devs want to make. In daggerfall, high rock was thousands of miles in length and was suppose to be around the size of Europe. So it could be small or it could be big all depends really.
Its going to be the whole of tamriel
almost 4 years later, and we still haven't got any big updates about The Elder Scrolls 6
Yeah, it's pretty frustrating :(. That said, Starfield comes out later this year, so MAYBE we'll see an ES6 teaser next year??
Oh great more giant mountains to get in the way of quests
Definitely the worst obstacle in any open world game :/
I think that something people forget is that borders change as time progresses. Maybe ES6 might take place another 100 or 200 years in the future, and the countries will have different borders and sizes to them.
I mean if the provincial borders have remained the same for thousands of years, I think it’s safe to say they’ll remain the same
Years later, I still reeeaalllyyy want the black marsh as a location bc I’m biased due to my love for argonians
In Skellige
philipp plein lmfao😂😂 The witcher??
no, toussaint
It’s set in AD 1939 Elderscrolls: Blitzkreig
philipp plein Novigrad?
Only in Toussaint...
I always enjoy these videos. Thanks Nick :) Also, by the way, I actually quite enjoyed when one of the lights dropped and you turned down the remaining light. It gives a more cozy feel, sort of like if you were to add a warm hue, at least in my opinion. Felt a bit more huddled up. To me it seems more appropriate given the fact it's still ASMR. I had no problem seeing the map, though I totally get the brighter lights for clarity.
Thanks again!
Although I think the location will probably be High Rock or possibly Hammerfell I would love to see a game set in Elsweyr.
x 1000
I’m pretty sure it’s High Rock
@@SpaceCatNuggets no there is overwhelming evidence of hammerfell
@@crimsonshadow8020
What's this overwhelming evidence of yours?
@@SpaceCatNuggets look at camelworks video on it I got it all from there
High Rock already already has a game which is Daggerfall
The tapping and tracing on the map sounds are to die for. So tingly Nick! =)
I’m hoping for multiple provinces to be available. Like Hammerfell and High Rock, or Valenwood and Elsweyr.
Nicky Hammerfell and Highrock for TESVI would be nice, I’d like to see the power of Bethesda in Elder Scrolls VII and make it Summerset, Elsweyr, and Valenwood. “Elder scrolls: Aldmeri Dominion (or just Dominion)”
RIPDOUGY! Yo that would be sick
Probably Hammerfell with High Rock for DLC
I cant wait for Valenwood, exploring massive forests would be so much fun. can we hope and expect a wandering series for whatever one is the setting? I would love that! Fell asleep to your most recent skyrim one the night before my first day of work, it put me asleep immediately
Judging by the teaser hammer fell looks pretty right to me, maybe high rock as well.
Been watching your vids of Elder scrolls these past days. Just find you channel. And to have a new vid about it it amazing. A couple of seconds video gets us fans specualting so much is great as a community
Yes! You did it! I was excited for this idea since you mentioned it in the E3 video.
I think it would make sense to be Hammerfell. If the sea is to the right, and we’re heading south, then it could be said we’re heading south *from* Skyrim, which has something of a linear, progression-style feel to have the camera take us (the player) out of Skyrim (the location of TES 5) and south into Hammerfell for TES 6.
This video is awesome! I love the sound the stick makes on the map. I hope the new game is set in Hammerfell!
Wonderful, soothing and in-depth! TY
It's totally Hammerfell. "Mediterranean terrain", the stone fort design, This vid convinced me. Only way we are seeing High Rock is if the game encompasses both regions.
by the way Satakalaam or Lainlyn(assuming rivers are minor) at around 50:00 seems to match the floodplains in the trailer, going by that map.
I think it's a bit funny you talk about High Rock not fitting the tone of the trailer when I think it's by far the most fitting; Hammerfell is largely desert, a much more Middle-Eastern feel overall. It does have more Mediterranean-feeling parts to the north that may fit, but those don't fit the possible coastlines we could be seeing and as you said many times, the overall tone is very different to what the teaser presents. High Rock on the other hand is certainly more Western-European in parts, but as the name of the region very clearly tells you, in-game texts say its defining characteristic is "rugged highlands"; it fits the feel of the teaser perfectly in my opinion.
Nick uses his environmental science knowledge to decipher the location of the Elder Scrolls VI
Riley1996 this looks like it should be in the description
I don't know how much of a nerd this makes me, but, I had a dream the other night about another trailer coming out in the future and the setting of the game was set in Hammerfell!
But then it took a weird turn and the Redguards were fighting dinosaurs....
Ryan Lambert Sometimes dreams become reality, I am looking forward to this now
If it is Hammerfell, it'll literally be a dream come true!
Ooh, that would be cool
But Hammerfell and Black Marsh are so far away from each other
Ryan Lambert Maybe it’s a naval invasion?
That's a little more believable
Thanks so much for making this video 😊 I really thought you were gonna go with high rock in the end.
you going through maps works like nothing else on me, it’s crazy!
Hammerfell isn’t all dry, though. It’s a big province and there is a city there that looks to be only a few miles (and I mean a *few*, less than the length of Lake Ilinolta) from Falkreath in Skyrim, which is known for being very wet. Doubt it transitions from rainforest to desert that quickly, meaning eastern HF is likely wet / green. Yeah it’s not on the coast but if you’re going with overall “feel” Hammerfell is just as split as High Rock.
My guess is either Hammerfell or High Rock, but there isn’t enough evidence to go on just yet. We’ll probably just have to be patient and wait it out.
Due to the rocky terrain I genuinely believe it’s high rock or hammer fell (very similar to location of Daggerfall)
i listened to the entire video. amazing video. subbed! :D
Timing of the GODS! Fresh video for bed tiiiime!!!
ASMR tingles for dayssss. I'm so used to Stream Nick that I forgot the tingly effect of a quiet video. :P

Really enjoyed this one!!
I think this video is probably great. The beginning was, and then I fell asleep. Looking forward to trying to watch the rest. :)
You're even using the same pencil it's amazing.
wow just subscribed - loved the tracing sounds, if you could layer those sounds with you talking it would be perfect!
Oooooh! I’ve been wondering about where you’d think they’d put it next! And I loved your previous Elderscrolls Map video so this is gonna be awesome!!! 👌🏻👍
Seeing how Hammerfell and especially High Rock look like in ESO. I'd gladly go there next!
For me maximum pleasure is achieved listening to this when highly exhausted
57:40 "couple of years"... man i hope my grandsons will have the luck to enjoy The Elder Scrolls VI :'v
It would make the most sense for this to be an iliac bay game with both provinces just like daggerfall (except with the full provinces I assume). I’m not a fan of it though as i would much prefer to go to a new province we haven’t seen before that’s actually unique and diverse like Elsweyre, blackmarsh, etc. or even akavir! I would love to learn more about akavir and dive into its lore in its own dedicated game
I think it could be Hammerfell and High Rock. If you compare High Rock to anywhere the game has been set in the past before, it is incredibly small and narrow to be an exclusive game setting so it would make sense to throw them together for varied terrain and make the map expansive.
Guaranteed it isn't Morrowind. Even more of a gurantee that isn't Black Marsh..
How do you get the anthology? Can’t seem to find it anywhere.
My personal guess on this is High Rock.
willynthepoorboys2 grathwood obviously
DufulPlays that’s a little easy. Obviously it’s Skyrim 2

The coastline is the perfect shape heading southwest, and the settlement in the distance could very well be daggerfall
Alex King it depends on the time period but I think that settlement is too destroyed/ruined to be daggerfall
I just wanna say that your intro is probably the coolest I've seen
love your vids man!
It's 8 pm and this video shows up in my feed, fuck it I'm going to bed.
I still think the sun is setting or rising behind the camera and the mountains it passes. Maybe I'm crazy but I can't shake my mind off it
Plus, you know - coming from a white fog over mountains (Skyrim, where we were before?), a European-style castle and music of the same theme makes me think High Rock. Lore wise it's basically just Europe.
At a cursory glance, I'd have pegged the castle we see as possibly being Skywatch, in the Summerset Isles, it's on a northward stretch of land, next to the sea, and certainly made sense to me. But honestly, after recapping on Arena, Skywatch a Port town, canonically destroyed, I'm left a little stumped. I had hoped we might get a chance to visit the setting for Arena again, with revamped graphics.
I hope that it will be on the summerset isles
If we use the Throat of the world to Goldenglow Estate as a reference to scale. you can measure whether or not you can see that far across the landscape/ water. In doing so you could approve or disprove that the Elder Scrolls 6 could be set in Elsweyr if the sun were rising in the trailer. This could be the camera panning across the coast near the Topal bay area of water. This would also make sense with the dusty, desert type landscape we can see.
Thank you Nick. The amount of times I’ve drifted off when my mind was ‘carrying too much to be able to sleep’ because of you and your videos. I’ll raise my cold Honningbrew to you in the Sleeping Giant Inn tonight when I wake up there in my dreams. Peace
Cheers, friend! Thank you for your very kind words. Sleep well! Hopefully Sven doesn't keep you awake with his singing xD
oml this video is a god send!
* relaxation intensives* great video
Thanks!
theASMRnerd perfect in every way as an es and asmr fan amazing thank you keep it up
You're right about the area around Northpoint not matching what is seen in the teaser trailer. That area of High Rock (at least, in ESO) is quite rainy and kind of dark and dreary. It really doesn't fit the vibe the trailer gives off at all. So, I think it's safe to rule out that area of High Rock.
I have a problem with skyrim, the game just does not save what should I do?
If its High Rock and Hammerfell I hope we'll see some minor after effects or references to the dragon break (The Warp in the West) that happened there. I also want to see the Adamantine tower.
Great video. Really enjoyed it. I'm hoping the new game takes place in both Hammerfell and High Rock
You inspired me to make my own channel, thank you for the tingles.
I can see the new game focusing around the iliac bay, probably around the Adamantine tower as all major elder scrolls games have focused around the destruction or involvement of one of the towers.
What if it is set on the other continent on Nirn?(forgot its name)
this was amazing
Finally. Real content
Hammerfell would be a pretty sweet setting
Alucard .Tepes ❤ ur my favourite
Yeah I agree, I think a Journey through that Massive Desert of theirs would be cool
I always thought that elder scrolls 6 would be set in the land of the Khajiit
As a stressed out major TES fan, this hits every spot!
I love your Elder Scrolls vids🙂
Sorry if I missed this; it was so relaxing that I zoned out a lot hahaha; what are your thoughts on the theory that this game is going to be about the Akaviri invasion of Tamriel; meaning that the game would happen somewhere in Akaviri; + some north-western coasts of Tamriel, and that the teaser is possibly indeed high rock / hammerfell, as the place where the akaviri army arrives to tamriel?
I know the exact real-life castle the one in the trailer is based off of, as well as the exact location in which they’ve been taking some scans for TES 6. I know I haven’t substantiated anything yet, but let me just say it definitely takes place in Hammerfell.
Could that crater on the left side of the ruins in the trailer be Azra's Crossing?
Jp I've seen a few videos about that, so it could be. I didn't want TES VI to be set in Hammerfell or High Rock, because Daggerfall was set in both of those. But I'll take any province at this point
meyerjob _ Watch it be set in Thraas
RIPDOUGY! Isn't that where the Sload are from? That would be kinda cool actually
meyerjob _ indeed it is!
I definitely see an ES6: Valenwood coming soon.
Why has no one explored that it could take place somewhere else on Nirn? Like Akavir? It's even stated in this video.. ES games have never repeated the main location of a game.
"Redfall" does sound like a combo of HighRock and Hammerfell. Like the fall of the red guards in hammerfell.
But no one is hardly even looking into a setting outside of Tamriel...
We're nowhere near done with exploring each Province individually in modern high-detail in the main-series' single player games. That's why parts of Tamriel remain the primary candidates for visiting.
With that in-mind, the Redguards have already "fallen" so to speak; They had to fight against a detachment force of the Aldmeri Dominion during the Great War of 4E175, and parts of Hammerfell were razed and scarred in the fighting (including the destruction of cities like Taneth)... and *even before* that (in 4E168), there was infighting between the Crowns and Forebears (two of Hammerfell's political factions). The Redguards have been actively rebuilding since at-least 4E180, when they finally managed to get the Dominion to sign the _Second Treaty of Stros M'Kai._
^
To corroborate my statement, here's the source: en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:The_Great_War_(book)
The Redguards are certainly in a rough spot right now.
At 00:47 “it’s about HIGH time” hint maybe ;))))
Tomhall0212 Ya I noticed that too! And at 1:13 he says "...for those of you living under a rock...". It's high time to bring up High Rock!
philly pb I think we’ve uncovered something big here!!!
Hello? Is this a wiruss? I need to find the tech support okay?
There is some big evidence backing up the possibility of ES6 being in the continent of Akavir, and you pointing out the sun location helped me conclude that it is likely there. New area never explored but mentioned many times throughout the ES series (multiple invasions, report on the disaster at ionith book)
I watch this and fall asleep
Thanks Nick :)
Was wondering if you could do something exactly like this but about the 9 divines or any other deadra princes that are mentioned? Pretty peas! Would love more info on them
theASMRnerd , Amazing Job!
The Myrkwasa shoreline in Hammerfell is exactly what’s in the teaser. The curves and peninsulas are spiking in resemblance, and the distant province in the teaser could very well be ‘Pothago’ (i think it’s called that. I can’t really see it)
There is snow in the distance in the trailer so you've gotta give that thought of which direction the camera is pointing.
I think it's high rock that would be cool knights ect but I think it will be both hammerfell and high rock as highrock is the smallest province
Hay nick just wondering, will you be doing a wandering in skyrim on the alexa
I believe its the coast line underneath sentinel. Look at how well the two holds match the trailer
I think they'll try to Play it safe, so a pretty Standard medieval Setting, which is why they don't set the game in the more Alien lands like elsweyr and blackmarsh. After the surprise hit that was Skyrim, they want a Skyrim 2.
